In 1961, American film "missiles attack on America" directed by "Barry McMahon" and the English film "the day the world was on fire" directed by " Wall Guest" were made. In the first film we see that a nuclear test is supposed to be done in Antarctica when it accidentally comes into action with the Russians nuclear testing in the Arctic at the same time. The move is a change in the orbits of Earth. Representatives from all nations of the world come together to normalize the zonal and meridional situation by exploding four massive bombs so things return to normal situation. The proposal is done by oversight and management of one scientist and one American and the film ends without showing the results of the work which has several reasons. First, because of the weakness in the creation of special arrangements;
Second, the subject is irrelevant;
Third, there is some confusion to the end so that the impact of open advertising to demonstrate the power of America is less evident.
The second story is named "The day when the world set on fire" which is in a publishing environment that is related to the publication of the "Daily Express" ,English known newspaper, and it shows social and psychological effects of it on the society. Although the authorities here know that Soviet Union and the United Kingdom have exploded huge bombs at the same time, so that the Earth is out of its orbit and is set to fall inward sun, they censored news and refrain facts from people. Environmental and climatic situation upsets the world. The degree of warming has sudden and unexpected changes. Ocean and sea waves are restless and most of the staff of "Daily Express" magazine are trying to make people aware with the current news and report the event. In the final chapter of the film like the previous film, representatives of different nations come together and decide to do something to save the world and its people. After much deliberation between representatives of Britain and America on behalf of all of them have been chosen, they decide to blow up four other bombs to set earth back into its first place. In journal office we can see that headline in large print is ready to be printed to fit the situation one with title of "the planet Earth was saved", and the other one was "the earth was destroyed". However, with the end of the movie the audience does not know at this moment what happened to the Earth finally? In the film also the important role of Britain and America are stressed, and in the end they conclude that if the monitoring is done over tests, the disasters would not occur and with the cooperation of nations of the world under the banner of the two countries we can save the world from such risks that leads to destruction and brought peace to it.
The film "Panic in Year Zero" was made in 1962, and directed and starring "Ray Midland" based on the story of the famous American actor of the same name. The story is that at the beginning of movie sudden news begin on the radio about nuclear attack to Los Angeles soon and will be broadcast around the world. An American family consisting of a man and his wife and children in the name of "Rick" and "Karen" two hours before attack are leaving for fishing. In return he provides food and ammunition and by passing through the creepy people they go to a cave in the mountains. There are three young thugs harassed for them. Man kills them, and supports the son of the woman and another man who killed three young people. The third criminal attacked "Rick" in the forest and he is killed and "Rick" is injured. Army forces take them to a medical center, but the story does not end here, in fact the film says that there should not be an end, it's just a fresh start.
"Stanley Kubrick", famous British director, in 1963 masterfully directed a humorous black comedy called "doctor Strangelove" or "How can I love bomb and not worry about it" with skills. He delicately rebuilt scenes of air base, war room and B-52 aircraft that together with a compilation edit and unimaginable horror, the film was ridiculous as much as possible. The story is that an American Air Force General Commander is suffering from dementia due to fear of possible attack by the Soviet Union and sends B-52 bombers under his command for a nuclear attack on the Soviet. The America's president frantically calls his consultants including a fiery general, ex-Nazi scientist and a few others. Due to fear of mutual attack they contact the Russians and are trying to stop American bombers. Russian ambassador is also present in America. Operation is nearly successful, but eventually one of the bombers reaches the goal.
Here it should be noted that in the mid-sixties the case of nuclear war gradually was blurred in relation to the theme of the film. After the Cuban crisis that the West felt both parties' destruction and unresolved case of Vietnam which was like a black mark on the America's military history, several films were made jointly by the content of the destruction of man by his own reason for a nuclear war. The film is a nightmare comedy which shows irrationality of the human inability to control nuclear and destructive weapons. That says people who considered themselves as super powers and have weapons of massive destruction in their hands, because of lack of sufficient wisdom and fantasy intelligence may cause the destruction of the planet and the Great War all over the world. The final song on the scene sang on bombs shooting part points put that: I do not know where and when we'll see each other again.
Fear of enemy invasion and nuclear bomb is continues in American films in 1963. "Frank Perry" directed film "cobbler". In the film, staff and students at a rural school that spend their routine life one day they feel that something is going happen by strange movements among birds and insects and even animals. They received warnings of large nuclear attack and show a reaction. Some people do not know that this event is real or not?
During political situation in the Cold War in the 1970s, addressing these stories is natural and depicts mental and spiritual crisis and fear of communism in America and Europe. In the film "William Daniels" and "James Frawly" play a role. The film “failed security" (1964) has a story similar to the story of the doctor Strangelove, but there's no humor. The story is that based on the mistake that happen in the missile security system of America, suddenly a few fighter bombers set off atomic bombing to Moscow. President of America whose role is played by "Henry Fonda", a famous actor, is trying to prevent this disaster with the help of his assistants, and he failed, and finally he decides to arrange a plan in what New York City is destroyed by an atomic bomb. Here again we see America's president championship and rapid madness, but in any case the audience is told that during the global crisis and war between the two superpowers of East and West the only one that can decide in benefit the people of the world is the president of America that all people must obey him and obey his commands and comments.
In the 1970s, many were created film about the effects of nuclear radiation on people and animals. The result of this was change in the creatures.
In the film Gamra (1965) we see giant turtles that is 200 feet long and eats fire. This dangerous creature wake up in the Arctic Ocean on the accumulation of nuclear waste and attacks cities and ports, chased planes and after they crash with something and catch on fire, he swallows them all. Hollywood created the film because it wanted to make European countries and the Soviet Union understand not to accumulate nuclear waste in the oceans from Environmental advise, but America plants' nuclear waste were poured in the middle of the Pacific Ocean more than others and no one knew about it.
