Hooman Brothers
Doctor Ahmad Hooman and Doctor Mahmud Hooman were two of masonic masters in Tehran University and they were among the most important and the most famous new freemasons of Iran and of the most active figures in area of establishing and managing freemasonic Lodges and Rotary clubs. In order to introduce the brothers, we need to step back:
"In 1329, one of well-known Egyptian masons named Hana Aburashed came to Tehran and after comprehensive study of social, political, and cultural situation of Iran and meeting a number of old masons, he agreed on establishing a new Lodge in Iran. However, suddemly Razm Ara, the minister of time, who though that the action is against his cabin, disagreed the establishment of a new Lodge and revival of freemasonry in Iran. Following the action, Hana Aburashed left Tehran and inevitable Iranian freemasonic management and establishing a lodge in Iran was postponed." After returninig to caira, Hana Aburashed represented a report to Almahfel al-Akbar lodge about the situation in Iran, and the heads of the lodge hear his report and decided to continue activity in this field and tried to establish a lodge in Iran and they announced the decision to Tehran by a letter and they reminded them that they will sent another representative to Tehran soon and finally, Khalil Abolkhodud came to Tehran having a letter from the master of lodge of Al-Mahfel al-Alkabir, and in 133o, he met six people in Hotel Gilan. The six individuals were: Doctor Ahmad Human, Doctor Mahmud Human, Zabilloah Malek Pour, Muhammad Ali Imam Shushtari, Ebrahim Panah and Mir Slovyadin. He stayed in Tehran for 20 days and during this period, he joined the mentioned six people to ideal world lodge and he granted them varied badges from master to pupil.
It is necessary to note that according to constitution, freemasonry lodges are allowed to grant different levels to masons in urgent occasions and in a short time and by omitting the rituals.
The command of establishsing Homayun lodge in 24th November of 1951, the issue of mastership of Ahmad Hooman is mentioned as well and it is said that:
"We let the circle to accept the people who are interested and for implementation of such demand, we chose Doctor Hooman as the supreme master".
The first thing for Hooman brothers was accepting members and training new freemasonry and as they were busy in university, they could have the best positions.
Another plan of Doctor Mahmud Hooman was translation of constitution of freemasonry. Doctor Ahmad Hooman was also as professor of Homayun lodge and was responsible of reporting the meetings in the lodge and gathering and sending secret vital news to Grand Lodge of Cairo and Beirut and central world freemasonry in England. It is urgent to note that Doctor Ahmad Hooman was a fan of freedom of consumption and buying and selling drugs in all over the world. The grand freemasonic master and the remarkable member of rotary club, who was professor of university and was in legislation circles, stated in international criminology seminar as Iran's representative:
"In the seminar there were two types of attitude that one side was fan of banning buying and selling and consumption of drugs and having severe punishments in this regard, and the other side was fan of freedom of buying and selling and consumption of drugs and cancellation of any punishment in this regard. I was on the second side, and I believe in freedom of drugs consumption".
In documents published by students who followed Imam, freemasons and other members of organizations related to freemasonry such as rotary club and lions club and the council of modification in manner and fans of the world government are named as good connectors.
"Rotary clubs and faculty chairmen and secretaries of the venerable Freemasonry lodges met with the America's head of the information and data in Tehran least once a month and prepared him certain news and reports in specific fields for Embassy and they are the most productive relationship."
The documents depict the fact that the freemasonry organization was a political organization trying to achieve its goals in dofferent ways. After the adoption, all freemasons were forced to sign a will and the sign of the will represents their commitment to the freemason principles. There are some evidence that shows the activity of some of Tehran university's professors in the lodges and related organizations, but before that, we shall say that in rotary clubs, they discuss every issue and that makes us wonder why do they use the terms such as service to human being, human loving and such stuff in their laws but they seek for their hidden goals and follow the sensible sentence "goal justifies the tool".
Four main Rotarians principles to believe are as follows:
1. Creating understanding between people in order to serve the Human community
2. . The founders of a high level of moral standards and respect to all useful occupations, and to promote respect for the work of Rotary to serve the community
3. Each Rotarians has to do the most excellent service to their profession and community
4. Advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through international cooperation under the Job Alliance. Rotarians should aim to serve the community.
5. It is necessary to mention that rule of freemasons and members of related organizations over scientific environments especially in Tehran University made a situation that called people and Shah's regime as educational revolution so not to lose face. Of course, as we said earlier, freemasons created both a tendency and an anti-tendency so that correction of educational system was done by the, too. Note titles of Etelaat press:
Cultural specialists say that we are not only weak in researches and studies as ordinary universities, but we are weak even in teaching methods.
According to the doctor Manouchehr Ganji, General Secretary of International Studies of Tehran University, the management and planning system must comply with the requirements of the country and we are trying to develop the studies...”
The press writes elsewhere:
"There is no scientific environment in our universities. The main condition of success in the work is the research, and why isn’t there environment to research? The reason is that the educational environment is quiet lagoon. If from the beginning the training was based on debate, the Professor was not in love with their opinions as if trying to research further to be able to answer and familiarize students with the research.
Factors such as financial issues, the education in high school, exam status and working conditions in the University has made professors and students have less interest in research. "
Hoveyda, the Prime Minister, says in his speech at a scientific conference in Tehran University:
"Scholarship in Pakistan costs $ 59 and $ 164 in India and $ 340 in Lebanon and in West Germany is $ 970 and in France it is $ 1064 and in US it is 1100 dollars. Why has Lebanon been able to make prestigious research institutions with $ 340 in American universities' level such as American University of Beirut, then our educational system and research cannot meet the needs of the country.
According to the program organization, the total budget of the University of the West of America is the $ 9 million that $ 17 million is spent on research and $ 6 million is spent for library and two million dollars for the rights of professors and expenses, while in Iran, two percent of the budget is spent on research."
Hoveida said at the end of his speech that if this situation is caused by the management the management must be changed.
In the second half of August of 1347, King and People Revolution Article 12 will be announced in Educational Conference of Ramsar titled as educational revolution.
In Charter of training revolution and in the management we can see:
"It is needed to do vast and basic researches in structure and the methods of management of our scientific centers so that appropriate conditions for quick development be prepared. Therefore, the new heads of the centers must have enough authority so that they have freedom and power of choosing the heads of faculties and university institutions and choosing worthy managers, and their tasks and the limitation of their authority must be determined and clarified and they must be asked to have full charge in exchanging their tasks.
In general, in the Ramsar educational conference it was concluded that the educational system and its management must change from primary school to university and based on propose of Hoveida, the Minister, the private sector should help in the research of universities. It is interesting that how to implement the decisions of conference of Ramsar and implementation of principles of educational revolution were in charge by:
1. Doctor Majid Rahnama, Minister of Science and Higher Education and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tehran
2. Doctor Khalil Kazerouni, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tehran
3. Safi Asfya, Managing Director of Programs and member of the center Rotary Club.
4. Doctor Qasim Mo'tamedi, chairman of the University of Isfahan and member of Rotary club.
5. Doctor Anushiravan Pouyan, head of the National Iranian University and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Farabi
6. Doctor Zabihullah Qorban, president of Shiraz University and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hafez
