BIOGRAPHY OF SAEED NAFISI

Son of MIRZA ALI AKBAR NAZEMUL ATEBA, born on 8 June 1895 in Tehran. He finished primary education in SHARAF School which was founded by his father. Then spent his high in ELMIYEH School. He was only 15 when his elder brother DOCTOR AKBAR MOADAB NAFISI took him to Europe for further education. Young boy completed his education in Neuchatel in Switzerland and university of Paris. When he was 23 years old returned back to Iran in 1918. At first, started to teach in French in Tehran high schools. Then joined public welfare ministry. And collaborated with college magazine for a year along with great poet of Iran, MALEKOL SHOARA BAHAR. IN 1929, entered ministry of culture. In addition he was teaching in high schools, political science school, DARUL FONOUN College, business school and industrial school too. In later years, he started to teach in Law and Literature College and became member of cultural academy. When Tehran University started to work, he was one of the first masters to teach in Law Faculty and then Literature College.
We can say he was international master because he taught in KABUL, DELHI, CALCUTTA, CAIRO and BEIRUT Universities too.

PROFICIENCY IN THE HISTORY AND LITRATURE OF IRAN:

His mastery in literature, was the cause for new articles and valuable researches. And published number of Persian prose and verse texts in a scientific manner. His remarkable personal library allowed him to have access to the most important historical and literary references.
DOCTOR SADEGH REZA ZADE SHAFAGH says: I did not see any writer like him. He had a rare talent. When he was taking a pen in his hand, in a short time, he was making a suitable and article.

WRITING METHOD:

He was one of the founders of academic prose style. The feature includes the adornment in the sense and words. So the author is trying to use his ideas in a simple way, and stays away from complexity.

DEGREES AND ACADEMIC HONORS:

Scientists named NAFISI as architect of new contemporary prose of Iran. He was expert in Greek, Latin, French, Urdu, POSHTU, Arabic and Persian languages. His translation from other languages is a certain notoriety. His best service to Iranian language and culture is the correction of old texts, drawn from the corners of the world libraries, worked on them and then published as books. One of the exquisite honors of professor is rehabilitation of historical story writing in which reinforced the spirit of patriotism and bravery. And calls the Iran`s youth to love the country and protect the independence and territorial integrity.

PERSONALITY AND MOOD:

PROFESSOR ABDUL HOSSEIN ZARINKOUB says: master NAFISI had multidimensional character. He was historian, researcher, translator, author and journalist.
His wife PARIMARZ says: master was really book lover. He was keen to buy books, instead of other essentials.
Master was telling: we have to hand over the books to people.
This is an essential step for the development of society and especially young people. Books should be published and must reach to people.
Books should not be in jail. If people study well, then they will be enlightened and open-minded. Never argued with publishers about copyright. He gathered lot of books, magazines and newspapers, related or unrelated to his own field of study. Perhaps, he had best collection of Russian books.
He was cheerful man. He was getting upset soon, but was in peace soon too. His intention was clean in talks, behavior and writings.

MIGRATION TO EUROPE:

In the final years of his life, professor felt, nobody is tolerating him. Here he had reached the end. His articles have been published, but the gratitude were delivered to him, not money. So he migrated to France.

DEATH:

In last years of his life, SAEED NAFISI was suffering from Asthma. When he came to participate in First IRANOLOGISTS Congress in Tehran, Asthma troubled him and few days later died in hospital. He was buried beside his father`s grave in MOLAVI street cemetery in Tehran.
