Throne of Solomon in Takab is one of the most important and famous centers of civilization and one of the 4 national monument which is registered in the list of monuments of the world.
This cultural - historical area with 124 thousand square meters which was the residence Median, Parthian, Sasanian and Mongol in the different periods is located in West Azarbaijan Province and in the narrative, it is the birthplace of Zoroaster.
Historic castle of the throne of Solomon, the remnants of the Sasanian period has different parts such as Azargoshastb Temple and it is considered as one of the most important temples of the Sasanian period in the world with Shahi and Jangavaran Temple, Khosrow Temple, The Temple of Anahita, small temples and gates and its strong walls.
All its buildings are in a fence and an oval wall is shaped that a plain is all over it. The outer fence is built of rubble stone in different sizes with the thickness of 5 mm and height of 14 meters and 1,200 meters the external environment. The outer layer is viewed with cut stones and it has 28 defense towers.
The wall and fence building is belonged to the Sassanid period. Some parts of it are collapsed at the patriarch period while refurbishment and the new gate is built near the southern entrance of the Sassanid era.
Two coaxial concentric square can be seen in the oval fence that there is a lake in the center of the southern square and there is a temple in the center of the northern square and there is a rectangular fence all over this square with the approximate length of 250 meters and the approximate width of 150 meters and 60 towers surround the circular tower.
On the northwest side of the lake and the angle of the larger square, there Rafi Ivan known as Khosrow Ivan that this Ivan is made of red bricks and masonry mortar.
Ivan finds a way into two octagonal room or spring house which is related to the patriarch period. There is a rocky stream out of the throne of Solomon in the southwestern part which is 300 meters long and 4 meters high. The local residents call this rocky stream, stone dragon.
Throne of Solomon was destroyed in the year 624 AD by the Roman Emperor attack. ABBA Qakhan the nephew of Holaku Khan who had converted to Islam built a mosque on the ruins of Solomon's throne which was destroyed later and only tiles with designs and outstanding line of it are left.
Set of the Solomon's throne was considered as the largest educational, religious, social center and a place for worship in the pre-Islamic, but it was destroyed in 624 AD, and the attack of Heraclius, the Emperor of the Romans.
Using cutting stones and large bricks in the construction of this building and locating a strange and always boiling lake with 112 meters deep in the middle of the set has given a beautiful and special manifestation to this historic site.
The water temperature of this lake is about 21 degrees in summer and winter and this proves that its water is supplied with a very deep underground water.
This historical place was used as a summer resort in the Ilkhanid period and during the reign of Aga Khan in the thirteenth century.
This Mongol ruler gave a new life to the set of Solomon's throne by the construction of the council hall, eastern Ivan and 8 and 12 side buildings.
Solomon's throne in Takab was registered in National Heritage List No. 318 in 1316 by the Ministry of Culture.
