It can be understood from the social participation of women that a lot girls are being accepted to university and they are attending the jobs of the society after their education so that they can surpass men. However, the job of women is one of matters that can be discussed still. Hence, the working of women out of home has been criticized from different point of views with regarding the natural and effective features of women on family and the roles of being mother and spouse.
On the other hand, it should be considered that the social participation of women, as it is defined nowadays, can influence main and important roles that Iranian- Islamic lifestyle has considered for women. In other words, Iranian-Islamic lifestyle does not only consider housekeeping as an important job, but it also considers high value for the roles of mother and wife of women and defines other roles within the framework of such roles because these roles cannot be replaced in the structure of the society in spite of other defined duties. We should recognize what the conception of working in Iranian-Islamic lifestyle means. Isn't housekeeping considered as a job? Why is a woman considered as an employed person when she works out of home?
Does the working of a woman make her face to different role and even If a woman is able to deal with all of these different roles decently, will the soul and boy of women hurt?
Since children need to have interaction with their mothers spiritually, will children hurt from the working of their mother?
How does the working of women influence family relationships and their role as spouse?
Is there a meaningful relationship between the increase of social presence of women with increase of marriage age, delay in giving birth to children and the deduction of the growth of country population?
These questions will be discussed.
*The position of housekeeping in Islamic-Iranian lifestyle
Before we analyze the effects and consequences of working of women on family and the society, first we should define the conception of working. Working is one of basic and key conceptions that has a different meaning in each culture. Nowadays, working is often defined as the same meaning that is common in the west, a job that we can make money. In this culture, an employed person is a person that receives salary for his or her job. But job in Islamic culture emphasizes on the conception of working.
Job as a general meaning is everything that we consume energy for whether it is formal or informal and whether we do for receiving wages or in the path of God. Hence, home activity, housekeeping, training children, the activity of rural women in agricultural part and other cases in this area include the conception of working. This meaning of job is emphasized in religious texts and all of persons are obliged to do them.
On the other hand, housekeeping has more value. If you consider the cost of all activities that a woman does at home, the value of their home activities will be clear and you will observe and the house keeping of a woman not only has some advantages, but it is also economical from individual economic aspect and it has a lot of effect on the economy of the society. Home activities include between 25 percent and 40 percent of wealth in industrial countries.
Moreover, the important process of training, morals, emotions and…is related to the effective presence of women in the society. Hence, as it is seen, housekeeping is not only considered as a job, but it has an important position in economic circles.
*The obligations and prohibitions of the working of women from the point of view the supreme leader of Iran:
From the point of view of supreme leader of Iran, the working of women has obligations and prohibitions of women. Not damaging the basic roles of women, being mother and wife and the matter of the observation of the boundary of stranger men and women and the avoidance of the combination of men and women are main conditions that the supreme leader of the revolution mentions for the working of the women of the society.
According to the emphasis of the leader, only women can deal with the roles of being mother and wife in spite of other defined roles in the society. According to the interpretation of the leader of the revolution, giving birth to children and training them and solving the emotional problems of children can be solved only by mothers so that children cannot have emotional disorders.
On the other hand, lack of paying attention to boundaries can spoil the system of values and morals in the society. This event starts with the weakness of family foundations and lack of the trust of husband and it may enter the society with the eradication of moral foundations of family.
Hence, it is possible to evaluate the effect of the working of women on the roles of being mother and wife.
*The obligations and prohibitions of women
The working of women has positive and negative aspects like other phenomena. In such a situation, the importance and effect of these advantages and disadvantages on persons and the society should be considered so that we can achieve a general judgment from the position of women in social participations.
The increase of self-confidence, the sense of independence and helping the economy of family are advantages that are considered for the working of women, but there are a lot of challenges for women, children, family and the society in this path.
*The individual consequences of the working of women
The imposition of spiritual and physical pressures that result from different roles.
The working of women imposes other roles than being mother and wife on women. These stresses sometimes cause general changes on the behaviors of women and the gentle spirit of women is sometimes influenced. This important affair can influence the individual growth and exaltation of women and family relationships.
*Delay in marriage
Most of women that marry in higher ages are employed because they are financially independent. This affair can lead to the decrease of population growth in the society.
*The reverse of roles and priorities
Employed women are drowned at their job as much as their roles change and these changes influence values, expectations, thoughts and decisions of a person and little by little, the matters of job become more important than the matters of family, spouse and children.
*The feeling of sin in employed mothers
Employed women sometimes feel sin due to worry from lack of presence beside their children and this feeling leads to anxiety, the damages of work and the relationship of a mother and a child and it appears with paying more attention to a child with harsh behaviors.
*The family consequences of the working of women
The weakness of family club
From the point of view of Antuni Parsunez, the social foundation of family and the preservation of the security and comfort of family is through the incomes of a woman and the role of a woman is to establish and preserve emotional relationships within a family. Parsunez considers this division as the best form for the preservation of family relationships and the interference of another role as the cause of the disintegration of life balance because if women work out, they will be a job competitor and the competition of a wife and a husband with each other will lead to the disorganization of family. He believes that the common roles of women and men complement each other.
*Cold relationships with spouse
The spiritual features of women are different from men. Hence, challenges that are created in workplace can lead to spiritual and physical tiredness for women and this tiredness can influence marital relationships and can lead to the cold relationships of women with their husbands.
*The appearance of the spirit of management in behaving spouse
Sometimes, employed women lose their kind and flexible spirit and gain management spirit and this matter is effective on their relationships with spouse.
*Financial independence and the feeling of lack of dependence
Sometimes, financial independence and lack of economic dependence of a woman causes that her relationships change with a man. In other words, the independence of a man can influence the authority and management of a man and this matter cause disagreement in a family.
*The decrease of the attendance of a woman in a house
The working of a woman causes that she attends her house fewer times and this can influence her relationship with her husband and children.
The transfer of tiredness from workplace to house and lack of mental and physical preparation for meeting mental and emotional needs of family are considered as other factors of lack of presence of women at home.
*The satisfaction of verbal and emotional needs of women at workplace
Some employed women have verbal relationship with colleagues as much as they may have no need and motivation for verbal relationship with family members. This matter may lead to emotional and behavioral problems and inappropriate friendships in children. Moreover, this matter may cause that a man becomes bad-tempered and he has inappropriate emotional and verbal relationships.
*The deduction of relationship with relatives and friends
Employed families have less time than traditional families for attendance in family and among relatives. Hence, they become aloof and lose their financial and emotional support.
*The suppressing of job relationships over family relationships
Sometimes, friendly relationships and emotional relationships in workplace among colleagues suppress over family relationships and collaborations and even if women attend at home for a short time, it will be a cold relationship and will influence family relationships.
*The effect of the working of mothers on children
The relationship of children with mother not only is effective in the satisfaction of the needs of a child, but it also influences the mental and emotional moods of children. Because employed mothers are not with their children most of their time during day, they cannot take care of their children like housewives. Moreover, they shoulder the responsibilities and house and housekeeping along with physical and mental tiredness that results from working. On the other hand, experts do not agree that children are put at nursery school for care because they believe that this may cause that they find certain mental disorders when they get older.
*Emotional separation from children
Psychologists believe that children have a lot of emotional need in the early years of their life and this need is met only by mother and it cannot be met by another foundation. When women work out, there will be spiritual severe hurt on children because women have the most important role in the establishment of mental and emotional balance and virtues.
*The decrease of the domination of mother on the obedience of children
Every matter that causes that parents get far from their children lead to less domination of parents on children. When a mother works out, this causes that mother less relationship with children and this can influence the appropriate training of children because children do not obey the order of their mother.
*Training behaviors out of balance
When mothers work out, their spiritual tiredness that results from their work leads to unfriendly behavior and extra strictness of mother. Sometimes, a mother tries to compensate lack of her presence at home with giving gifts to them and this process influences the principles of training children.
*Lack of direct supervision over children and ignoring their needs
Harshness and lack of concentration, educational weakness and emotional problems in teenagers are due to lack of direct supervision of mother on children and this matter needs the presence and reaction of mother against the behaviors of children.
*The weakness of the position of father
When women work out of home, this may weaken the role and position of father among sons. Because children can meet some of financial needs from their mother, they may ignore the role of father at home, do not use the guidance and help of their father and little by little, the role of father in family will decline.
*Weakening of the role of mother as a pattern for girls
There is no question that the first pattern of girls is mother. A girl in collaboration with mother learns housekeeping, behaving husband, babysitting a child and other things in this area. Little by little, girls accept some responsibilities of the life at home and prepare themselves for the life at the future. But if a mother does not have enough presence at home and the club of family, there will not be such a pattern for girls at home.
*Duality in training children
As long as a mother works out of home, she has to leave her children to nursery school or other persons such as sister or grandmother whereas the patterns of training of mothers will be different from the trainers of nursery schools and others and children will grow up with dual behaviors, thoughts and values.
*The social consequences of the working out of women
In spite of the fact that the individual and family consequences and the effects of the working out of mothers on children can influence the society indirectly, the working of women can influence the society directly. Some of the social consequences of working of women include the decrease of population growth and the joblessness of men; 1. The effect of the working of women on the growth of population in the country; 2. The growth of the population of our county has faced to remarkable deduction and most of experts believe that this decease of population has a meaningful relationship with the increase of the working of women in recent decades.
*Lack of desire for giving birth to children
Employed women prefer to have fewer children because so that they can do their duty as mother well. Hence, having only child is a common phenomenon that is more seen in families that women are employed. Sometimes, we observe that high age difference among children and this can have its own problems.
*Delay in giving birth to children
In our country an according to the weakness of their rules and their inappropriate performance, employed women have to delay in giving birth to children.
*The joblessness of men
Women are considered as cheaper forces because they do not have the responsibility of financial management of family, they accept jobs with lower income more easily. This affair has caused that companies and institutions would like to use the forces of women and as a consequence, men become jobless. This topic is considered as one of the worries and anxieties of our society today.
*Solutions
There are some solutions for problems that we mentioned for women. We can consider these solutions for considering financial matters of family, the mental and spiritual comfort of family and the foundation and children.
1. Paying attention to the value and importance of house and housekeeping. At first, we should look at the position of housekeeping and the value of wife and mother and the definition of the working and usefulness of the women of the society should be presented. According to the definition that was presented, housekeeping is not in line with joblessness, but housekeeping and the acting of the role of mother and wife is a ground for the establishment of culture, the improvement of the society and the growth of human as it has been paid attention to the value of being mother and wife.
2. Revitalizing the value of mother and the importance of training children
3. The division of tasks among family members

The avoidance of luxury, the observation of fairness and contentment in costs and expenses of the life are considered as a kind of return to Islamic and Iranian lifestyle and this causes the remarkable deduction of material needs of family. Therefore, there is no need that a wife and a husband work out together for making expenses.
5. The extension of par-time or full-time jobs for women
6. A serious matter about the cases that women should avoid working out and considering a priority so that women should avoid working out especially for mothers with little children
7. The discrimination of job environments of women and men for the prevention of moral problems
8. The development of household jobs and the development of household jobs
9. The possibility of gaining a chance of job after several years due to doing motherly activities
10. The omission of unnecessary sentries for women in night times
11. Providing new jobs in areas that are in line with the spirits of women
12. Considering insurance for housewives seriously for the worries of the life of this effective and useful group
These are cases that need the attempt and belief of persons in charge and policy makers and if they are considered seriously, it can decrease a lot of problems of women in economic areas.
Although the working of women is not in contrast with religious and social matters, it will have problems in individual, family and social aspects. In spite of the fact that there are a lot of women that they have not only had successful social cooperation, but they have also done their basic roles decently with considering the obligations and prohibitions of working and the most important obligations and prohibitions include the role of mother and spouse and the avoidance of communicating with stranger men and women. Of course, it cannot be denied that this basic principle needs the accompanying and sympathy of all family members. Therefore, the tiredness of soul and body of employed women will not be undeniable. On the other hand, with serious search of some articles and researches that support the working of women and the introduction of this topic as a real need and the serious request of women, we can observe the trace of feministic thoughts in them and these thoughts have entered these conceptions consciously or unconsciously. However, since physical and psychological differences between men and women and difference between the religious and cultural aspects of our society and the religious and cultural aspects of European and western societies are cases that distinguish the working of women in our society from European societies.
In spite of the fact that we cannot present certain ideas about the positive and negative aspect of the working of women, but it seems that the roles of women in family environment are as important as we cannot compare it with other and it is a pity that this effective commitment can hurt and harm.
