# Soap of Maraghe
It is more than half of the century that traditional soap of Maraghe has indwelled in the souvenirs of this city and it is taken to all over the country by travelers or tourists who travel to Maraghe.
One of the features of this soap which made it preferable to others is that it is made from non – chemical raw materials. Because of that it could keep its clients for many years.
# Honey of Maraghe
In ranging grade of honey of State of East Azerbaijan, Maraghe was located in the first place due to its good quality and quantity of producing honey.
Since Maraghe is rich in mountain leas and varied flowers especially in Sahand leas, honey of this city has high grade and is produced a lot.
Dried fruits of Maraghe are paper almond, paper walnut, dried Geisi, hazelnut, dried walnut, raisin, grape, bract of peach, bract of apricot; in other words in ancient times, people dehydrated the fruits like plum, drupelet, sour cherry, apricot and others mentioned above and they say dried fruits to them. These goods are not in the group of nuts and they are fruits which are dried.
One of the most important souvenirs of Maraghe city are Sojoog and Basloog. Ingredients of Basloog or baslig are starch, water, sugar, rose water, butter, walnut and powder of coconut.
Sojoog is made from extract of grapes or Doshab, starch, almond seed or seed of sweet apricot, rose water and cardamom.
# Carpet
Industry of carpet is assumed as the most important industry in many areas of Azerbaijan. According to this fact and having a lot of skillful craftsman in designing and weaving of carpet, this industry is developed as well as many important carpet centers of other cities like Tabriz.
Since man could form clay, fire it and make his/her instruments of life from it, the industry of pottery was introduced. Because Maraghe is a historical city, industry of pottery, tiling and making ceramics were common there from ancient times. Some of these earthenware remnants are found in this area and represented in Ilk Hani museum of Maraghe.
Monabbat means engraving on wood. This art has ancient history and it was common among different nations of world which shows the civilization and cultural and social developments of these societies. Monabbat makers of Maraghe have done significant things as well as craftsman of other cities. Moreover having abundant walnut also is one of the causes of improvement of this industry. The glory of this art was seen in diverse exhibitions which are set up there.
Moarrag means patch and in other words it is the name of forms which are made of putting small and large fragments of wood or tiles together. There are two types of Moarrag: Moarrag of wood and Moarrag of tile. It is an ancient industry in Azerbaijan and it has developed from Saljoogian reign.
Miniature is a kind of painting art which doesn’t follow the rules of science of landscape, sight and somatology. Color has a decorative aspect and details are shown in elegance. This art has experienced up and downs from Saljoogian era, up to now.
