If you’d like Ashe Berenj (rice soup), then visit Hamadan. If you’d like Ashe Broosh, Tele Konji, Sarkoole, Bersagh, Sujugh, Basugh,Pikechook, and coconut bread you should visit there. What else can be said to make you sure that Hamedan is one of the best options for Norouz travels. Continue more? Not satisfied yet? If you’d like Komaj, visit Hamadan. If you’d like Angoshtpich, dried apricots, currants, grape juice and yellowish halva, you should visit there.
By the way these are attractions on food. If you’d like pottery, ceramics, leather products, rugs, Gelim (short-napped coarse carpet), and Jajim(coarse and loosely woven woolen cloth), you should also go there. If you love history and civilizations, you should again leave for Hamadan, the land of the Medes, the hometown of Mirzade Eshghi , the lion stone city, Ganjname inscription and half sister of German’s Carls Roohe.
Delicateness of Babataher‘s poems and Ebne-Sina philosophy should be felt right beyond their tombs in Hamadan. You can’t visit there and forget trying its traditional Dizi. It is said that it has no traditional dishes other than those mentioned above. They might probably mean that it has no special dish served in restaurants which interests customers since different types of Ash (a kind of soup) are not something people might want to eat when traveling.
But, any way, if you are already in Hamadan, or have planned to visit there, don’t forget Hamadan’s Dizi. The best place to eat is Hamam Ghale(Castle Bathroom): there is a signpost at the beginning of Babataher St. which shows the way to access it. This bathroom is a historical collection that belonged to the Ghajari period which has switched over to the anthropology museum and traditional eatery .There you can get one of the best Dizi.
Of course visiting it can be proper for one or two meals only so if you plan to stay there for several days, you should also visit these places: our suggestion is Hamadan’s Bamm where it is only 10 minute drive from the stone lion. You should enter Eram Boulevard and reach Hamadan’s gardens, Alvand foothills , and Abbasabad hills to go there. It is said that having dinner in open space of Abbasabad hills is indescribably enjoyable since it can be eaten either inside the restaurant located on the square or out on the grass.
But people of Hamadan have a different thing to say about their restaurants. In their opinion the best dish of Hamadan can be eaten in the restaurant of Kaktus and Cholokababis (where kebabs and rice are served) of Meysam, Diana, Sun and Atish but they all agree over the fact that the best souvenir of Hamadan is its traditional cookie, Komaj, the best and most fresh of which can be found in Buali St. and 600 Dastgah district.
