A trip to Sish Pir

Where to go?
Shish Pir! The strange name ,which is not clear why it’s called this way, belongs to a spring in Fars province, one of the most abundant and major permanent water resources across the province.
It lies 8 km north of the village of Bereshne , a district in Homijan. It flows off the mountains and turns into a roaring river on its way , a few meters down, and cerates spectacular scenery which never fails to amaze visitors.
If you are going to have a trip in a chilly and mild climate, don’t forget Sepiadn and Shish Pir.
The spring flows in the mountains in the southeast of Sepidan and reaches and feeds the fields and gardens of Homaijan.
After a canyon known as Shish Pir and a short distance, it pours into a river in the city of Ardakan.
Part of its water activates the power turbine factory after passing through the roundabout of Shahid Talebi. The spring(or lake) is known among most amazing lakes in the country by the residents of the province. The locals call it a holy river and every year come over to make wishes. 200 meters from the spring , there is an inscription on mountains remaining from the Qajar period, it shows that it was a popular hub then.
How to reach it?
You should leave for Sepidan in the north of Fars province , 75 km west of Shiraz. It lies 6 km from Ardakan. It is the main origin of the Shish Pir river. The lush vegetation and natural landscapes have made it a beautiful spot for tourists.
Sepidan is among the ancient cities of Iran and patterned potteries remaining from the fourth millennium BC were explored following archeological excavations in 1314 ( solar calendar). No good reasons for its old history? The relics remaining from Assyrian in the region of Partakna were found nearby.
It was once a flourishing area with a dynamic economy. It boasts magnificent and beautiful monuments which are famous in the province. Of interest are the mosques of Vali Asr, and Haj Niaz Niazi ( now destroyed to some extent), Jame, and Haj Alam Torabi and the bathhouse of Ardakan which still exists. If you like mount climbing and wandering around nature, you can do so in the mountains of Ranj and Beram Firooz. Also of note are waterfalls of Margun, Chikan, and Murzian which would delight you and make a pleasant afternoon. The canyons of Tange Tizab, Tange Ghuredan, Tnage Absard, and Tange Baghdiyoon are other highlights. The lakes of Beram Firooz and Beram Shish Pir are the most favorite among Fars’s tourists due to their nice and pleasant climate.
