Div Cheshme features natural and unique scenery on the slopes of soaring mountains. It lies 55 km southeast of Noshahr in the village of Astankarud. The summer and mountainous district receives countless nature lovers and tourists.
To reach it, you should go to Noshahr; which extends to the Caspian sea from north, to the Alborz mountain range from south, to the city of Noor from east and to Chalus from west. At 2.9 meters above sea level, Noshahr has two parts : Markazi and Kojur.
Astankarud village
The tombs of Imamzade Taher Motahar , Seyyad Ali Kia Sultan, and Imamzade Hamze Reza , cultural collection of Kandelus , Sisangan forest , Noshahr lake and port are other favorite attractions.Cheshme Gerdu is a clear and abundant spring which is located 5 km from Noshahr , in Mazandaran, in a neighborhood known as Sang-e Tajan ( the oldest name of the city). It’s the most abundant in the west of the province and supplies the drinking water of the cities of Noshahr, Chalus and the villages around. Every year countless tourists pour in to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Avidar dam lies 30 km east of Noshahr near the forest park of Sisangan in Mazandaran. The dam along with the lake behind stand in the hearts of mountains , quite far from the sea. As a result , the humidity is low. It belongs to irrigation administration of the region . The lake behind it was built to supply water for agriculture.
A trip to Kandelus
In your trip to Noshahr you can stay in a beautiful and spectacular complex featuring an interesting museum. The tourist complex lies in a region with a pleasant climate.Its museum was built inspired by the stories from Shahname (a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi). In a part of it, valuable objects representing different historical periods are displayed. Also the social and cultural customs and traditions of the people of the region are put on show.
In addition, the complex has facilities for tourists like accommodation, restaurant, kids park, and grocery stores.
If you ever travel there, be sure to pay a visit to its medicinal herbs ‘museum too. It was founded in 1365 (solar calendar) to plant , grow and cultivate main herbals and produce fragrant herbs , essential oils and plants oils.
The first botanic garden in Iran encompasses an area of 10 hectares and produces over 250 species of valuable genetic plants and exports them to many countries across the globe.
The anthropology museum in the village of Kandelus features precious objects which make it like no other in the country.
