Wandering around desert has many fans and many tours would prefer deserts of weeds to regions with dense trees.
Most of their destination is in Maranjab or Mesr( Egypt). But now it's an opportune time to get to know another beautiful desert, Jandagh.
Iran's central desert is located in Isfahan, around Khor and Biyabanak. If you ever step foot into this region, make sure to visit Jandagh. It's located in the protected area in Isfahan, 350 km northwest of Isfahan. To have a delightful sightseeing in desert and watch the stars which sound too close you can chose one of these two: the first path starts from Shahrud and about 50 km after Mesr you'll reach there. The second is through Nain.

Wander in the heat of desert

Don't say there is no ghost here! Goat, fox, sand fox, wolf, eagle, rabbit, partridge, ram, ewe, dull-yellow partridge, Bagherghereh, and dove are the main animals in the desert. Leopard and panther are too shy to visit tourists and of course they are the main reason why other group of tourists, namely hunters, visit the area!

Jandagh, what a name!

If you don't know about the name of the city you visit , don't feel embarrassed. Sometimes you might have to search its cultural , geographical and historical background to know why a special name has been put to it. It 's true about Jandagh too. It's called Jandagh because of its geographical features, i.e. the edge of desert and smooth land. It's a barren area , lower than 100 mm rain per year.
Despite little rain it's not void of agricultural products. Farming and cultivating wheat and barely is common there. More interestingly its saffron is the highest-quality in the whole world. However it's not produced much and that's why it is as valuable as gold.
If you travel there, you'll come across its special vegetation including Tag, Gaz, Eshno, wild almond, licorice, smilax and camel's thorn.
Although it includes parts entirely barren and parched, it boasts its beauties; when storms make the sand dunes move, it creates sand hills and lovely shapes which would amaze the eyes of those who love deserts
