There are disagreements among scientists about when Quran was collected and who ordered to collect Quran and there are several opinions about it:
Quran was collected in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants);
2.It was collected in the time of Abu Bakr;
3.It was collected in the time of Umar Ben Khatab;
5.Quran collecting started in the time of Abu Bakr and t finished in the time of Umar;
5.It was collected in the time of Usman.
Some of the last scientists have accepted the first narration:
The first opinion is right which most of scientists have accepted the same opinion. Following scientists are mentioned:
1.Ayatollah Khui (may God's mercy be upon him)
They have tried in this area and narrations and they consider them against the book, tradition and wisdom.
Tafsir Al-Bayan : p 162
2.AlameRafei has said
Ejaz Al-Quran: p 36
When the Quran was descended, the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) had a companion that wrote it and he did it with the order of the messenger of God and their choice incompletely or completely, but persons that collected Quran completely were five persons.
And then he mentioned the name of the companion.
3.Sheikh ManaGhatan has said
Mabaheth Fi Olum Al-Quran Le Mana Al-Ghatan : p 74
We knew that Quran was written in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants), but it was written separately, on papers, bones and the peel of date. Then Abu Bakr ordered to write the whole of Quran as a book in order to say '' Abu Bakr was the first person that collected such Quran in a book.
His remark demonstrates that there were different Quran books, but his Quran was on pages and like the Quran book at the present time. However, this remark is in contrast the remark of persons that believe that he collected Quran from some companions that had memorized (two witnesses had attested).
4.Zarghani believes that collecting Quran is not an affair that was not done in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and the companions created it after him, but the instructions and orders that the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) used in the time of Quran descent and in the time of writing verses until his decease have been used. He bade the same instructions and then said:
Manahel Al-Erfan : v 1 p 242
Imam Abu Abdullah Mohasebbi has said in book '' Fahm Al-Sonan'' '' writing Quran was not a new action. Therefore, Hazrat Muhammad ordered to write it, but this was written separately, on papers, bones and the peel of date and in such a situation, Abu Bakr ordered to rewrite them from papers to other papers coherently. The Quran was as scattered papers in the house of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants)and Abu Bakr collected it and tied the papers with thread so that they cannot be lost.
This is the remark of the last scientists that accepted the first opinion.
Some of the early scientists have not accepted the first narration:
The following scientists are considered as the early scientists:
1.Sayad Morteza:
SayadMorteza Elm Al-Hoda, according what deceased Tabarsi narrated from him, bade
Tafsir Majma Al-Bayan : v 1 p 15 Al-Fan Al-Khames
In fact, knowing the rightness of the Quran is like knowing cities and great events that there are a lot of purposes for their narration
Quran collected in the time of the messenger of God was the same as current Quran. Some of the companions, such as: Abdullah Ben Masud, Abi Ben Kab and so forth, recited the whole Quran several times in the time of the messenger of God ( peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants). This matter, only with little attention, demonstrates that Quran was collected and arranged and there was no need to look for each part of it and it was in order.
2.Siuti:
Siuti, one of Sunni great scientists, has written
Al-Etghan : v 1 p 62
There are common accord and narrations about the fact that the arrangement of Quran verses is Toghifi (it should be determined by the prophet). This matter is certain and there is no question about it. A lot of the scientists, such as: Zarkoshi in book '' Al-Borhan'' and Abu Jafar Ben Zobeir in book ''Al-Monasebat'', have narrated that his statement is
The arrangement of verses and Surahs was done according to the order of HazratMuhammad (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and there is no disagreement among the Muslims…
Among the narrations, the narration of Zeid can be referred that he said '' we were in the presence of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and collected Quran in paper sheets .
This statement demonstrates that collecting and arranging verses in Surahs were done by the messenger of God (peace of Allah beupon him and his descendants) and there is common accord about this matter.
3.Ghazi Abu Bakr
Siuti in book ''Al-Atghan'' narrates the remark of Ghazi Abu Bakr in Al-Entesar
Al-Etghan : v 1 p 63
What we accept is that God descended Quran and ordered a person that collected it, but he did not write it with his hand. After the text of Quran completed, nothing of it was omitted and its order and arrangement were the same order that God put and the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) arranged it in verses and surahs.
3.Baghvi
Siuti narrated his remark in book '' Sharh Al-Sane''
Al-Etghan : v 1 p 63

The companion (may God be well pleased with him) collected Quran that God descended his messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) in two volumes without adding and decreasing it.
It is impossible to mention all of persons that have accepted this opinion in this article because they are a lot of persons.
What is intended from collecting Quran in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants?(
Does the narration mean that the whole Quran was collected as a book in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants?(
What removes a lot of doubts from the Quran is that Hazrat Muhammad ordered that the Quran be collected, even collecting scattered papers, whereas there is no distortion and fault in them and they can be considered as referral for transcriptions that will be written from it later. If not, the meaning of our remark will be that the people did not have Quran as referral in the time of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants).
The conclusion of the opinion about collecting Quran in the time of Abu Bakr :
if we want to accept the remark of persons that say '' Zeid Ben Sabet collected Quran from persons that had memorized it and in the time of Abu Bakr, his order and two witnesses that had attested, we should accept the end of Quran because this remark means that we have received some verses of Quran available by a person whereas all know that several persons should narrate Quran and no one denies this matter that Quran was narrated by several persons and relationship between us and the messenger of God was done several times and there is no question about this matter.
We do not know why some persons insistedon this opinion? Of course, its reasons may be bias for considering virtues for special persons even although it is not in the favor of the Islam and the opinion of the Muslims.
Reasons for collecting Quran in the time of messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants:(
1.Wisdom:
It is one of reasons that demonstrates that Quran was collected in the time of messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and other narrations are not valid. The messenger of God tried to keep and understand verses as much as they received some verses hardly before their descending. Hence, God descended the following verse
Ghiyamat Surah / 16, 17
Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur´an) to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it.
And a person knows that Quran will be the pivot of Islamic culture until the doomsday; how can it be imagined that the prophet left Quran sporadically and in the way that some persons memorized?
2.Sakhalin Hadith:
A collection of narrations known as '' Sakhalin'' is famous among all of the Muslims. The messenger of God bade in these narrations '' I leave two precious things among you: 1. the book of God; 2. Etrat (Ahle Beit(
Following scientists can be referred from the narrators of this narration:
Al-Termezi, Sonan : v 5 chapter Managheb Ahle Beit Al-Nabi
Ahmad, Mosnad : v 3 p 14, 17, 26, 59
Hakem has said with few documents in book '' Mostadrek'' (volume 3 / page 109) that these narrations are valid according the opinion of Bokhari and Mosalam. Zehbi has also narrated it his summary and he has not criticized it.
Alame Majlesi has narrated it in book '' Bahar Al-Anvar'' chapter: the virtues of Ahle Beit (peace be upon them; volume 3 / page 106) with a lot of documents.
Fazel and Shenavi have collected the documents of the Sakhalin narration in a special thesis that Dar Al-TaghribBein Al-Mazahen Al-EslamieGhahere has published it.
