History of embroidery in Iran goes to year 550 BC and archaeologists have found examples of embroidery and Filigree in the area of Lolan. Embroidery is executed in three ways: Simple embroidery, highlighted embroidery and diaphoretic embroidery. Diaphoretic embroidery is more beautiful and takes more time to create. In this way, the color brush is cut in desired shapes and on the work background is put on the petals and leaves and around them with the help of hook is attached to the background textile.
Hook used is for metal embroidery and its tip is not curved unlike conventional hooks and it’s sharp. There is a diagonal cut at the tip of the hook in 5 mm. Another tool of embroidery is Jarideh and like clamp, a piece of cloth is put in the mouthpiece of it and pushes it together with help of knees so that textile comes out. Then they tie the head of colored thread and insert the hook from top of textile to inside of it and stuck the node in the diagonal groove of the hook and pull out the hook out of the textile. In this way a semicircle is made of thread. They repeat this work as much that the lines of design are sewn in form of chains.
Background textile for Embroidery is usually good broadcloth in black, dark blue, burgundy, deep red and brown. The material of threads is natural and spun silk in different colors.
This is the way embroidery work that initially they seat on a short stool, and place a piece of Textile between the mouths of the Jarideh and with help of their knees push it together so that textile does not come out then they tie one head of the thread and while they are inserting the hook from top of the textile to its inside, the node is being firmed in groove of hook and they pull it out of textile and while pulled out thread from textile has got a semicircle shape in a particular distance, they insert the hook to textile again and firm the thread on groove of hook and pull out the hook from the textile. Thus, the previous semicircle is stiffed and starts to show itself on the project. While a new semicircle created lets the industrialist to insert the hook inside of textile again and by repeating this form, shape of chain starts to show itself on textile.
Nowadays Embroidery is used for decorating prayer mat, place of Qur'an, the edge of the curtain, cover of table, cover of cushion, edge of collar, chest skirt of female clothing, top of women's slippers, Warhead of lampshade, ceiling of textile pendants and etc.
