Beautiful wetland of Hashilan

The wetland of Hashilan is located 26km northwest of Kermanshah in the rural district of Allahyar Khan on the slope of Khorin and Veis mountains. Covering an area of almost 450 hectares it is considered one of the beautiful ecosystems in the west of the country.
As a place for the stops of migratory birds, the wetland plays a significant role in feeding the underground waters and provides a suitable environment for the growth of special plant species and the balance in the province's climate. The life of aquatic birds depends on the ecosystem of the region and unfortunately other marine animals like the fish, turtles and other animals are under threat. It contains 110small and large islands , covering an area of about 100 square meters to one hectare, making up almost 3% of the whole space.
It includes plants and animal species. The place is covered in grass and sometimes aquatic plants exist inside water or non-aquatic plants cover the islands. Its vegetation consists of willow species , few and sparse, and grass or weed species like water lily, water Adasak, Sim Vash, and Boz Vash etc.
Inside it and on its bank animals like rodents from the family of rats , mammals like wolf, fox, rabbit, jackal, and wild cat live in the area. The heights of Khorin , located north and northwest of the wetland , are a suitable habitat for wild goats.
Tashi is also among other animals seen on the heights. Furthermore, many snakes and turtles exist in there.
