Population displacement of Jewish people centers in second half of 15th century to the end of 18th century the financial infrastructure power of Jewish people in 19th century caused to provide their important foundations in the appearance of the new system of Capitalism. Historians in Hebrew university in Jerusalem know this population displacement as a “preparation for ascending the rule of Jewish people in the economic prowling of the new era”. If the concentrated and organized Jewish centers would not have been based in the main centers of the world’s trades in 16th and 17th centuries and if by without keeping of their internal close ties and an international network Jewish people could not be able to reach their today place.
The original bases of these immigrants were at ports which were positioned in north of Africa, south of Europe and Ottoman’s empire. Thus, the main centers of Jewish wee founded near the important Mediterranean Sea ports. In fact these areas were surrounded completely. Based on the historian of Hebrew University in Jerusalem wrote that “Lodgment of Spanish and Portuguese Jewish people near the main ports of Mediterranean sea increased their commercial influence in these areas.
These Mediterranean networks were based into two areas:
1. Islamic political and cultural the ports of Ottoman which were Levant and north of Africa.
2. European: the ports of southern Europe.
Jewish people who lived in east coast and were trading as middlemen with Europe and most of them were the representatives of Dutch and English trading foundations in Jewish Levant areas. In 17th and 18th centuries the connections of these two centers had an important role in intensifying Jewish plutocracy international network. According to Jewish history: the European Jewish for business needed Jewish people in Islamic countries and they profited from the European Jewish people and the Polish Jewish people profited from German Jewish people and German Jewish people provided their needed goods by Polish Jewish people.
Thus, in all of the main ways of world’s trade were in the bases of Jewish people, by the sufficient investment, interconnected and coherent international network which were at the core and main economic and political centers and had a firm and fluent base. They obtained the currents of goods and investment in the most important economic centers of past age world surprisingly.
Therefore, if we call Jewish plutocracy as the first and most developed underground organization of the contemporary world, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Their mysterious successfulness was exactly rooted in their hidden and international relations. Jewish encyclopedia knows Maranoes success reasons as “founding in the main world’s trades centers” and “their relative relations” which could able them to make “a very effective and coherent international trading organization”. “The international network” is a term which can be seen in Jewish references repetitively; Professor Richard Davis knows that as “Rochild’s international network” and historians of Hebrew university in Jerusalem wrote that as “Jewish economic and social network “they added that “the close relations between converts (Maranoes) in Iberian peninsula and the Jewish centers in north of Europe, Bordeaux in France, Italy, Constantinople (Istanbul), Slavonic, Syrian cities, Lebanon, and north of Africa created an important economic and social network which was based on relative relations, traditions and the common language one of the main reasons of increasing the importance of Jewish economy who were immigrants from Spain and Portugal, this trading was the monopoly business that Spanish and Portuguese governments had with their many overseas colonies.
Precious stones and irons which were imported from the colonies were for developing north European markets but because of wars between Netherland and Spain and these wars took too long plus, these wars between Spain and England blocked the directed ways to reach these markets. Therefore, this business granted to trading companies for a specific time which mostly were organized by Maranoes.
These mentioned points are crystal clear and show that these close ties among Jewish people in Iberian peninsula and Maranoes and Spanish and Portuguese courts and they emphasized on our ideas which massive immigration of Jewish people in Iberian peninsula was a systematic movement in order to realm on Eligareshian colonies in Europe and Jewish partners on the World’s trade and politics.
We were witnessed this displacement of Jewish population by sunrise and sunset of world economy’s power at the end of 19th century and massive immigration of Jewish people from Russian to the east of Europe and making the active Jewish centers in U.S, Canada and etc. both of these waves were under the cover of “religious victimization” and it was mixed with their propagandas which was a cover to conceal the real goals of immigrants.
At the end of 15th century and beginning of the first half of 16th century Muslims of Iberian peninsula escaped to Islamic eastern countries especially to Ottoman and Fas. The news of cruel Christian rulers were spread everywhere and all of people felt sympathy. This place was the most appropriate for immigration of Jewish people and it wasn’t possible in the normal situation at all. Jewish people mixed into this wave and pretended themselves as victims of Christians’ cruelty among Muslims thus the Muslims welcomed them and started new life in their new country. Maranoes migrations which were Spanish and Portuguese Christians went to many European, Asian, African countries and they were addressed as “Portuguese” or “Jewish” by their native people of these countries.
It wasn’t possible a simple immigration. Jewish/Maranoes had enormous liquidity and therefore after a while staying in new country they will become the first class economic power in that area. The primary immigration’s wave of Jewish people was to Fas. They mixed with homeless Muslims from Granada and migrated to Fas. It was said that during 1492 to 1496 about 20000 Jewish people lived in Fas. The Muslim king of Fas welcomed Jewish immigrants warmly. Jewish people started to buy properties and founded a rich society. At this time the king of Fas Muhammad Sheikh Vatas known as Mola Sheikh and was from Bani Vatas family. Abraham Trouel a Jewish rabbi described him as following: one of God fearing servants among nations of world.
He welcomed to exiled Spanish Jewish in 1505 he ruled Israelis until his death well. God made him a ruler to let us live in this country. From this time the widespread influence of Jewish people specifically in Morroco and generally in North of Africa started: some of Eligareshi Jews members in Fas like: Jacob Rosales and Menakhem Senan and Abraham Granada were known as Bani Vatas kings’ counselors and were sent to Spain and Portugal then encouraged Maranoes to immigrate To Fas. In 1536 one of them Jacob Routi who was a rich businessman became the minister this immigration was unfortunate one for Moroccans.
Ungrateful Jews betrayed their honest hosts caused to Portuguese forces attacked on north of Africa’s coasts. By these attacks some parts of east coasts of Morocco were occupied by Portuguese forces and Jews/Maranoes groups stayed there. According to Jewish encyclopedia, “Jews were serving as translators and middlemen between natives and Portuguese people and their political roles or Portuguese kings were at the priority”. This short sentence shows the secrets of Jews immigration in that age. This is a secret that Jews hatred from “religious cruelty” of Spanish and Portuguese Christian rulers and few later this place became their homeland and their first grade employers in colonies.
Here we will investigate one of the clear examples: one of the most famous Jewish families lived in north of Africa was Benzemru one of the members of this family Isaac Benzemru the doctor of Isabel’s court. He loaned so much money to Isabel and Ferdinand to attack on Granada and received his money after surrounding the city naturally with noticeable profit. In 1496 we can find him in the important port in Safi in Morocco bankers of Portuguese rulers in the new properties while he had much influences and he was responsible for the diplomatic negotiation between Portuguese king and Moroccan Muslim rulers.
In 1510, the mentioned port was attacked by Muslims and Isaac and his cousin Ishmael brother, Abraham Ben Mehier Benzemru, died in 1530 was one of the important Jewish people in Granada. In 1510 Manuel, King of Portugal, chose him as the rabbi of North of Africa of Portuguese colonies. Abraham had noticeable power and respectful by the third John the next king of Portugal in 16th century the two brothers of Benzemru family who were called as Judea and Solomon had noticeable share from trading in north of Africa one of the other members of this family was Aaron minister of Agadir port and another one was Abraham as Portuguese rulers translators in Mazagan.
Until early 19th century we can find reminders of this family as the chief of Jewish society and Maranoes in Morocco. Today there is a family tomb in Safi port as the “Seven Sons of Sumerians” and it is a holy shrine of Jewish people. From the 16th century Jews/Maranoes lived in north of Africa‘s coasts and had cooperation and active roles in rubbery and spoil trading area especially slavery trade. Their cooperation with Portuguese naturally caused to conflicts between Muslims and Jewish people. By this way Morocco became paradise of Maranoes and one of the important centers of Jewish people.
Accordingly, by this changing, planting economy privileged by Maranoes and sugar production had a noticeable development. In 17th and 18th centuries Morocco became as one of the best production centers of sugar in the world. By falling Bani Vatas government and replacement of Bani Saad in Fas who was famous to “Ashraf Hassani” family because they knew their ancestor as Hasan ebn Ali (peace upon him) in this time the situation of Jews got worse, because the actions of Jacob Routi as the minister Muhammad ebn Ahmad the last king of Bani Vatas made the people angry which caused as wave of confliction between Jews and people of Fas and it was to be continued during Bani Saad government.
Jewish people got into Bani Saad’s court too as translators, doctors, and chancellors. Isaac Louie from plutocrat Taliti family went onto Muhammad Almahdi government and from that time the age of Jewish influence began. Influence of Elgareshi Jews penetrated among the rich men of bani Saad especially at era of Zeidan known as Mamoon Mola (1603-1628). At this time Abraham ebn Veiss and Judea Louie became as diplomat and translators. By raising the power of Jews among Bani Saad family like Bani Vatas it was an unfortunate phenomenon and few later it caused to their falling in 1660.
