The most turqoise-colored lake in west

These days when you are sick and tired of the long hot days in summer more than ever before , not bad to pack to visit a winter-quarter in a mountainous environment. Gahar lake is one of the best options you can consider and take a day off to spend the weekend and the holidays early next week.
It is located 121 km east of the province of Lorestan , whose center is Khorram Abad , 35 km southeast of the city of Dorud. Just like a piece of turquoise it is a highlight in the protected area of Oshtoran Kuh. It has two main parts, large Gahar about 100 hectares and small Gahar. The depth of the lake measures between 4to 28 meters with a length of 1,500 m and width of between 400 to 800 m. In the snowy years , its surface freezes creating spectacular scenery.
Its beauty is not limited to what was said. It includes a various wild life involving animals like goat, deer, leopard, wolf, brown bear,jackal hyena, fox, rabbit, ram, and wild boar birds like eagle, partridge,Dull-yellow partridge, hawk,and other indigenous birds. Eel, rainbow fish, and red-spotted fish are among other aquatics living there due to suitable environmental conditions.
If you ever visited there, in addition to paddling in water you can do fishing with hooks, do boat rowing,waters ski and walk on the coast which will make your trip even more fascinating.
Be sure that you can get health services there like a center for outpatients, police camp, temporary summer environment post-station

with 30 tents and 10 rest rooms .

The best way to access is through the city of Dorud towards the village of Astaneh Emamzadeh Pir Vali and then to the scoring of Khih. From the city of Dorud to the spring there is a paved road about 17km. From the spring to the destination there is a road for the livestock , 18km long. And you will get to see the domestic animals of the indigenous

people while walking to the destination.

In addition to this path, you can ride a car from the city of Aligudarz to the road of Shul A bad , the edge of the river of Moor Zarrin and the col of Tapleh and from there you should take a distance of about 12 km to reach the lake.
Of course, if you are a professional mount climbed with enough experinec in Oshtoran Kuh, you can take the mountanous route towards the lake. If so your path goes through the village of Titan between the cities of Azna and Dorud. From there you should go up 4,150 meter-mountaoin of Oshtoran Kuh , San Beran, and then come down the sandy path towards the lake.
