Of course, Jews are different in many ways with the other nations of the world.
During the long life of their own, they have always lived as a subordinating minority in marginalized of communities and nations of the world.
Among these nations the "Jewish nature" and "the Jewish characters" were considered as a familiar category and have been used almost in the same sense historically.
This serious nature that has been under the direct influence of the teachings of the Torah, Talmud and Jewish religious figures, and it has been shaped by them, is the symbol of a fixed and immutable character and spirit that has always been as a special emergence, and had often caused some reactions and provocations among the majority society.
An obvious example of these provocations in the attitude of Europeans to this people is remarkable in more than fifteen centuries.
Jews in terms of their subjective and religious beliefs have a "narcissistic" spirit, and they have been evaluated as a nation by the spirit of "avoidance”, "dependence” and "schizoid" in their social interactions.
Obviously these personality disorders cannot be ineffective in the way of their behavior towards others.
Psychologists emphasize that those with personality conflicts and their subjective beliefs does not match with outside objective facts, which means that on one hand they see themselves superior to others, but in practice, they acknowledge their humiliation by seeing themselves less than others, do not have moderation and health behavior and are unable to decide rationally and be calm in various situations and positions.
Accordingly, Jews have always been different in having norm and special treatment throughout history. Around the time when they lived in a position of weakness, they accepted humility and subservience and sometimes mercenary and the few times that they were temporarily fortunate and powerful, they acted cruelly and violently.
Living in "ghetto" and the displacement and isolation, as well as pain and suffering that have been inflicted on the Jewish people throughout history, had a profound and strong effect on their individual and tribe ethnic characters, and the element of fear and humiliation has become a part of essence of these people’s hereditary character.
Over the centuries, Jews had always surrendered against oppression that has come out against them. This obedience and submission have been occurred whether of having a spirit of humility and developing a psychiatric disorder known as “Masochism”, or at most they chose migration to other locations to suffer less pressure and pain.
Herzl, founder of political Zionism, has said:
Everything is based on our repulsive force. What is our repulsive force? Misery of Jews.
He has said elsewhere:
Anti-Semitism will be our friends in the near future, and those countries which are hostile to the Jews, will be calculated as our allies and partners!
Herzl’s message is clear. He knew that Zionism should rely its power and influence leverage on the persecution of the Jewish people. Whatever the torture and bothering be more on Jews and put them under the pressure, stimulating the feelings of the world for accepting and supporting the goals of Zionism and receiving compensation from the "anti-Semitic" governments will be easier.
When has history ever observed such people around the world that the sell themselves to persecution and torture to buy their human dignity with the compensation?
Abba Eban, when was the Education Minister of Israel, also told Jews at a conference, which was held by the Jews of America in Jerusalem, in June 1962 C. on the twelfth to the fourteenth July:
I would like to talk to you frankly. We Israelis are pessimistic and anxious of you living as a minority (in America). I am sure that maintaining your Jewish identity is at risk because of the absence of any harassment on you.
Jewish poets in their poems have mentioned the psychological characters of their people with different interpretations. Bialik's poem of "truly this nation is a nation" says:
Indeed, this nation is full of humble and humiliation and degradation.
Stink and pollution have covered all over its body, from head to foot;
since these people did nothing willingly in the heritage day and suffering day.
Then says:
Indeed this nation is spoiled and loves the shame and humiliation.
They do baseless actions and have illegal behaviors.
... A nation that does not wake up with lashes, will never rise.
It does not arise as long as injustice and torture make them wobble.
Bialik ends his ode this way:
a wilted leave climbs on the silvery branches of tree, among dead vineyards.
Cannot a drop of frost heal a rotten bud?
Even if the horn is blown in and the flag goes up;
does dead become alive? Does dead shake?
The heavy black shadow of despair on the Hayim Bialik's poetry is nothing but a reflection of a negative character and consent and humiliating submit of his fellows against the pressures.
He has attempted to evoke Jews’ emotions by criticism and depicting Jewish ethnic characteristics, and stimulate them to adopt the best practices of life and qualification and moral values.
Another Jewish poet, Shawl Chernykofsky, has criticized Jews’ misery in an ode titled as "I believe", and stresses that hungry but free human is much better than filled human by humiliation:
One does not die of hunger.
Human’s freedom is more valuable than a piece of bread which has been won by humiliation.
What is mentioned above is only one dimension of the Jewish characters.
But the other profile of this nation is violent behavior, fierceness, cruelty and violence that they accomplish in the power and authority to their subordinates.
many parts of the Asfar of Old Testament tells about murder, cruelty and brutality of the Jews to the people who have been defeated by them and even in some cases it openly asserts that the violence is the result of God's law and God has ordered his selected people to kill all inhabitants of the earth by sword.
Torah explains well in book of Esther in a few pages as the golden history of Jewish power that how the Jews started a great slaughter against their opponents by entrance of a beautiful Jewish girl named Esther into court of Xerxes, the Achaemenid king, and with pure violence more than 75 thousand of them were massacred.
What EstHer did against opponents of the Jews is not a unique event; but a lot of examples in this case exist in history, as Neron, Roman Empire (54-68C.) according to the irritation of his Jewish mistress, called Poppaea Sabina, did persecution to Christians and had a brutal treatment with them.
Torah in Deuteronomy commands the Israelites:
no one should be alive in cities within the borders of the Promised Land. Kill any living being.
In this case a quick look at Joshua is not devoid of interest.
... The children of Israel stormed into the city (Jericho) and seized it from all directions. Whatever in the city were destroyed by them, they killed men and women, young and old, ox and sheep and donkeys.
On the same day Joshua attacked the city, took it and killed the king and all the people there, so that none of the residents could survive. Then, Joshua and his men attacked Libnah ... and they killed all its residents as the residents of Jericho by the sword.
When Israelis attacked Lachis, Horam, the king of Gezer, arrived with his army to help the people of Lachis, but Joshua defeated him and all his men, and all of them were killed by him. Joshua and his men attacked to the city of Ajloun on the same day and also killed all its inhabitants like people of Lachis. After Eglon, they attacked to Hebron and seized it with all the surrounding villages and the king and all its inhabitants were killed, so that even one person could not survive. then they returned to the Debir city, and the king and all the people were massacred like Libnah’s habitants.
So ... the people of Israel as the Lord had commanded, killed all the inhabitants of the land, from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza and from Goshen to Gibeon.
But the monstrous crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory which have occurred since the establishment of the Zionist regime to the natives and helpless people of this land, and is taking place every day with newer and more extensive practices, is another painful and sad story for itself.
