The second category: verses indicating the concealment of truth and the mixing of truth and falsehood
The Holy Quran says that one of the bad habits of some people of the Book, especially Jews, was knowingly concealing of many religious truths and mixing the right with wrong and has revealed it in various verses this reprehensible act of the people of the book.
1. Allah the Almighty blames the people of the book in several verses because of mixing truth with falsehood knowingly and deliberately: Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge? (The Family of ‘Imran, 71). In another verse, while inviting them to Islam, warn them against doing this.
Because of the fact that the concealment of truths and confusing truth with falsehood is mentioned in verses, come together, mainly along comes the concealment of facts or in the form of merging with has been canceled. In another verse of God hide obvious things after revealing it to the people in the book, he spoke: Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah’s curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse (The cow, 159).
Some commentators believe that the purpose of concealing the participants in this verse, like Ka'b ibn Ashraf scholars of the Jews and the Christians, Ka'b ibn al-Assad, the son of Surya, Zayd ibn Tabuh and they are the Prophet Muhammad's prophecy, though written in the Torah and the Bible had been denied. Total final provisions of the above verses, knowingly concealing and hiding many facts are clear, the people of the book. Some examples of clear facts reflected in the vote commentators, such as the prophethood of Muhammad and his progeny, the good news excited him and his completed, leadership and administration Imam Ali in Bible available to them, but the Torah and the Gospel of today, no trace of them, or at least not clearly.
Concealment in this verse includes the concealment of the original verse and its implication; additionally, the concealment of implication it can also cover interpretation and assigning to verse a meaning that had not been God's purpose or matching of the real meaning of the verse be on a purpose other than its real purpose. Jewish evangelism as part of the revelations of the Prophet's mission was to listen to people, not hidden, and the other part of it was to inform the people, the interpretation, the Prophet did not match, even on the part of the Torah their hands and prevent it were read.
“Covering” means mixing something with other things, so that it would be confused and indistinguishable. Interpreters have considered mixing truth with falsehood as an example of distortion, unfair interpretation and misrepresentation of the truth, a kind of mix that it is not possible to distinguish pure from impure. For this reason it has been said: the meaning of "don’t cover the truth" is a prohibition from writing articles that are not in the Torah, so that the truth is not mixed with falsehood. According to some early and later commentators, the meaning of "truth” is the original Torah (not the distorted one) and the meaning of “falsehood” is the falsification and plagiarism in the Bible and the Torah and offering them to people as the original Torah or a mixed one. However, other statements in this regard, including: faith on the part of the book (truth) and blasphemy to the other (false); or mixing the right (truth) with a lie (falsehood) as well as a confession to the right the prophet hood of Muhammad and void, denying it. This means that in some cases a denial to admission or confession hidden and denied outright.
2. Concealment of contents of Torah
According to verse 91 of Surah of Cattle, style and tradition of the people of the book was that they would divide Torah into pieces and hid parts of it. Allah in Surah of Cattle, after explaining ingratitude of the Jews, adds that they turned the book of Moses into roll petitions, and reveal some parts of it and hide a lot of what was to their detriment: But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents) (Cattle, 91).
According to well-known Jewish quotation, this verse had been sent down addressing Jews. Saeed bin Jabir has narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his progeny and Malik bin Saif, who was one of scholars and the Elders of Zion debated and Malik denied the revelation of God to man, even the revelation of Torah to Moses. Jews did not accept his excuse that he had uttered such a statement out of anger and Ka'b ibn Ashraf was elected in his place. In the explanation of the verse it is narrated from Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) who said: at first Jews would write the Torah on different sheets, then by their choice, revealed some of them and concealed the others.
This verse clearly states that the current Torah, first at the time of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and his progeny existed in the form of a sheet of paper (Qratys, the "Qrtas" means paper, paper and anything that is written on it), according to some commentators, the Jews in the Torah were able to easily capture and hide the facts, the Torah was divided into separate sheets of paper.
Secondly, the book contains numerous facts, including characteristics of the prophet peace be upon him and his progeny, the Annunciation to prophet hood of the Prophet and legitimacy, which they said they were in favor of Jewish scholars and leaders distracted. So they hide many truths of the Bible, it was distorted because it conceals films written, naturally led those to oblivion, resulting in incomplete form book was in the hands of people that this kind of distortion and examples of distortions shortcomings. Thus, some commentators here have used their distorted interpretation.
3. According to the Quran, before the descending of Torah, all the food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what [= meat and camel milk] was forbidden by Israel [Jacob] himself (The Family of ‘Imran: 93). In defining and interpreting of this verse, commentators of the early age of Islam and following them all the interpreters have said publicly: Jacob (peace be upon him) due to a reason such as an illness whether by his detection or the command of God, decided to prohibit his most loved food- i.e. the camel meat – for himself not for other people.
Therefore, the embargo had been only for Jacob; but the Jews for their choice, and to follow Jacob claiming that the sanction had been from the earlier prophets from Adam to Abraham, Isaac, and he has been on it than they were getting and the Torah, the Quran to prove the lies and distortions about it, asking them to bring the Torah and to invite judgment: All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel Made unlawful for itself, before the Law (of Moses) was revealed. Say: “Bring you the Law and study it, if you be men of truth” (The Family of ‘Imran, 93).
As to the reason of the revelation of this verse it is said that Jews who wanted to reject the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who had followed the creed of Abraham, used to say that eating meat and camel milk had been forbidden in the religion of Abraham, how do you claim you are following his religion but it is lawful for you the eat them? The Prophet said: in the religion of the Prophet Abraham they was halal, too. The above-said commentators along with other commentators have said: all Jews were amazed by the reasonable demand of the Prophet and did not dare to bring the Torah, because they knew that there is no such provision in Torah. Inviting the Jews to bring the Torah and reciting it indicates that they were out of reach of the general public.
4. Absence of issues related to resurrection, reward and punishment
Belief in the resurrection and the resurrection of the dead is one of the original beliefs of all religions and the Quran clearly states that the issue resurrection was discussed in God's first message to Moses (TaHa: 11-16). According to the Quran, the revealed religion of Moses on three basic principles of divine unity, monotheism, worship and Resurrection was built. Quran teachings clearly talk of resurrection and eternal rewards and punishments in the Torah implies (The Most High, 10-19) and Since the resurrection of all the prophets was invited as a priority unity, constitutional rule, this doctrine has been mentioned in detail the real Torah, but in the current law, but nowhere in the Old Testament do not see the doctrine of the Resurrection.
Jewish scholars in order to prove it in the Torah, have referred to cases like (Numbers, 18: 28) whose implications have never been clear. Hence, the interpretation of "Hereafter" in (Deuteronomy 16: 8), and Lamentations (Jeremiah, 4: 18) means the end of the world. According to the Qur'an, one of the promises in the Torah, the Bible and the Qur'an is that God lives and property of the believers who campaign on his way out, at the expense of small paradise (Repentance: 111). But such promises are not found in the Bible and the present. Rashid Rida, referring to non-current promises in the Bible, says most of their education and the rest are lost, distorted or literal meaning of the Qur'an, the Torah and the Gospel has been and guardianship proves the truth of this promise.
Therefore, the very fact that resurrection and eternal reward and punishment is not mentioned in the Old Testament can be an example of distortion (in the form of deletion) and is an illustrative example of provision “and they forgot from what they mentioned”. And perhaps for this reason, the Sadducees (a sect of Judaism) have denied "immortality of the soul" and "Resurrection". And the current Torah refers only to the gain or reward and punishment through deprivation of blessings in this world.
In the New Testament the issue of destiny after death (applicable on Purgatory) has been raised (Luke, 16: 19-31). However, the belief in purgatory assumes no place in Christianity. In the gospels there is also a clear statement about the Resurrection and the Resurrection, only the tolerance portable terms can be found on the Resurrection. Therefore, the issue of resurrection and eternal punishment account can be the best examples of deletion distortions in the Torah and the Bible, as some commentators have regarded the Jews as an example of objective oblivion.
The third category: verses indicating teachings of original Bible and Torah
Almighty Allah in some verses reports some of the teachings of the Torah and the Bible, that is not explicitly stated in the current Torah and the Bible. This indicates a distortion by Jewish scholars. In the following sections we will introduce some of these cases.
1. Enunciation of the mission of Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) in the Torah and Bible
Based on the clarification of certain verses in the Quran, the Prophet's mission, his features and his name is mentioned in the original Torah and Bible. The Qur'an describes the believers of the people of the book in this way: Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures), in the law and the Gospel (The Heights: 157). It can be understood from the verse that three description of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), i.e. "The Messenger", "prophet" and "unlettered", is mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel. If the verse was not trying to make such a statement, mentioning all three descriptions together which is unique to this verse, especially the third one was pointless. In the interpretation of the phrase "in written" special attention has been paid to the fact that the name of his attributes were written in such a way that they could have no doubt in matching Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In another verse of full knowledge of the Book of the Prophet (PEACE BE UPON HIM) is reported. Based on the clear expression of Koran, the Book of the Prophet as well as his sons and hence knew some of them, who had to know the truth lies, blame the (The Cow: 146). Most commentators have been in this verse, one of the companions of the Prophet of Imam Abdullah bin Salam asked about it, he said to the Prophet of God, I know from my own son, because he is the truth of the descriptions of God I believe in the Bible, but I also do not know son, maybe she is betrayed.
Therefore, Jews were acquainted with characteristics of prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) and according to the story of the monk Bahira, had no doubt in its application to the Prophet Muhammad. Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) as quoted by Hariz as quoted by Hemad as quoted by Ibn Amir as quoted by Ibrahim Ibn Hashem as quoted by Ali Ibn Ibrahim narrates that the Prophet said: the meaning of "the book" is the Torah and the Gospel and the meaning of "they knew him" is the recognition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) because God in the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel traits of the Prophet and his companions, and mission and has expressed migration (Victory: 29). People of the Book, after the mission, even though the character traits of the Prophet and his companions were aware in the Old and New Testaments, it denied "when there came to them something that they knew, they rejected it" The Jews, the mission of the Prophet to the Arabs said this evening that promised prophet of Mecca and migrated to Medina's appearance and best of all the prophets and the seal.
Between his eyes is redness and between his shoulders is the seal of prophet hood. He rides a steed without a saddle. He is very blithesome and at the same time has his sword upon his shoulder, he is brave, and his government is global, and kills you Arabs like the people of Aad. It is especially narrated from Jesus (peace be upon him) that he had told news about the advent of a Prophet whose name is "Ahmad" (The Ranks, 6). This verse, although the good news of Jesus Christ and the mission of the Prophet and his name does not come from the Bible refers to it, but with respect to the verse “they find them written in Bible and Torah” credible evidence that traditions the existence of the name "Ahmed" The Bible makes it clear and Ahmad that Bible reinforced and confirmed.
This issue has paid the attention of a number of Muslim scholars and commentators who seek Ahmed in the current Gospels to the word Paraclete or Paraclite. Both words are Greek, and the first word means comforting that true Christians have called it the Holy Spirit and the latter means excellent, Ahmad, and commendable. Christian and Muslim scholars have different opinions regarding the word actually used in the original gospel. The abovementioned commentators and researchers believe that this word originally referred to a proper name, i.e. Periclite which meant praised and Ahmed that has later been changed. Some researchers also believe that this good news exists in the original Bible but in translations, it has been changed from Paraclete which has been used in Greek translations as well as it is, to Paraclet to mean someone who gives good news or a comforter or booster.
According to articulate statements and the space of revelation of the Book it becomes clear that in light of the teachings of the Torah and the Bible, they knew well Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) and have had full understanding of him; otherwise, certainly all the scientists of the book rose against him in an explicit fierce fighting and denied the truth of the Quran, while a number of them, particularly scientists like Jewish Abdullah Bin Salam, Ka'b al-Ahbaar Ahbar and Christian Tamim Dari, based on the gospel and the qualities of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the Torah and the Gospel converted to Islam.
In the same way, the Holy Quran speaks of joy, (Thunder: 36), tears of joy shed by a group of people of the Book (The Table Spread: 83), certification of some of them on the legitimacy of the Quran (The Dunes: 10) and belief of some of them (Stories: 52). Hence, according to the statements of the Quran (The Heights: 157; The Cow, 146; Victory: 29) and the other (The Ranks, 6) the news of the mission of the prophet, his name and features and even some of the main features of the companions of the Prophet was expressed in the Torah and the Bible in such a clear and precise way that Jews and Christians, at least their scientists, knew him as they knew their boys to the extent that they had no doubt in knowing him and acknowledging his legitimacy.
In addition based on the hadiths of the prophet’s household, their sacred names in different books have been in this way: al-Had in Torah (fights against anyone who fights against Allah and His religion), Ahmad in Bible, the name of his grandsons Shabar and Shabir or Shabur or Shabir in Torah and Taab and Tib in Bible. However, while in the current Torah and the Bible, nothing can be found about the coming of the Prophet PEACE BE UPON HIM after Moses, Jesus but a few general words. Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) in a letter calling Jews to Islam, has stressed on the necessity of his global mission which has been mentioned in Torah.
Therefore, the likelihood that this clear statement from the Bible have been removed or modified is strengthened; especially since the Quran states, Jews based on the news of the Bible, long before the prophetic mission, were waiting for the emergence of such a Prophet and sought victory over the infidels, but the moment prophet came with exact features they were acquainted with, they denied and disobeyed him (The Cow, 89).
Ibn Abbas and following him all commentators regarding the abovementioned verse have said: Jews, before the mission of the Prophet, had expected his appearance and even in their internal conflicts, or in fighting with Arab pagans such as Aws and Khazraj gave themselves the promise of victory, and in the time of difficulties and intensities they would say: God help us with a prophet who comes the end of time and we have found his features in the Torah. But after his emergence among the Arabs out of malice and envy, denied him and said: this is not the prophet whom we had expected its appearance! In the books of traditions it has mentioned with slight differences.
Some Western scholars consider verses 146 of the Cow and 71 of the Family of ‘Imran as examples which show deletions in some parts of the original version of the Bible. While the Quran implies that the Bible clearly gives news of the coming of the Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM); and therefore some of the children of Israel believed in him: Say: "See ye? If (this teaching) be from Allah, and ye reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity (with earlier scripture), and has believed while ye are arrogant, (how unjust ye are!) truly, Allah guides not a people unjust (The Dunes, 10); Those to whom We sent the Book before this, they do believe in this (revelation) (Stories, 52).
However, contemporary people of the book referring to copies of the current Torah and Bible which corresponds to the pre-Islamic period and are kept in museums and libraries of the world, deny the least mention of the Prophet in Torah and Bible and they do not accept the explanation of the Muslims in this regard, and as expected, reject justifications of Jews and Christians who have converted to Islam by such news.
