The permanent wetland with reeds is located 25 km east of Ahar which is a habitat for the migratory water birds. Recently the earth walls of the wetland has turned into Gheshlagh Shahverdi Dam and its water is exploited for agricultural purposes.
The exact location is 2 km south of the village of Gheshlagh Shahverdi on the south of the connecting Ahar-Meshgin Shahr road. The wetland extending from north to south measures a length of about 500 m and width of 300 m with a height of approximately 1360 m above sea level.
