Israel has apparently taken effective steps in development and promotion of industrial and economic directions on the way to reach to the level of countries such as the Netherlands and Belgium and those equipped with contemporary science and technology. Its population is steadily increasing, the birth rate is encouraged, health care and treatment of children is followed with special sensitivity and accuracy. In addition to higher education institutions and universities, organizations and research institutions have been constructed. This is an attempt to transfer modern scientific ideas, designs and inventions of smart people into Israel by inviting Jewish scholars, educators and professionals of other countries, even temporarily, to strengthen the intellectual force and to train experts. All of this is based on one principle that is the Jewish religion, and it has three basic parts, Jewish history, language, and Jewish nationalism.
Israel depends wonderfully on its past and history. Israel has accepted religious characteristics and traditions and has linked science and techniques with religion, and has set religion as an ideal in everyday life of the Jewish community by national and spiritual education. In this case, no sample of this scale can be provided.
All Jewish people in other countries strengthen Jewish state of Israel with large-scale financial sacrifices. In the State of Israel religion and nationality are like support for each other. Religious leaders are often extreme nationalists.
Israeli government by all means is formed in the form of religious government. There will be no permission for the slightest criticism and analysis against Judaism. No one can be as a criticism. One of the things that does not come to the mind in Israel is humiliation of religious leaders and calling them reactionary. Jewish students at universities march while religious leaders are in the forefront of the movement and spend religious days together. Israel with three million people has two times more schools and religious institutions than the Turkey.
In ordinary life, in society and the army they swear to the Torah. In some courts, some manifestations are sworn as well.
Deuteronomy, chapter 10 verse 20:
"Fear of your Lord your God, serve him, hold him up, and swear by his name."
Dependence on the Bible, which has played an important role in the integration and consensus of Jewish people, can be seen in all classes of society. Jerusalem has turned into one of the largest research and study centers of Bible. The research is done at the Hebrew University, Institute of Rabbi Kook, the official Bible Institute and other religious centers, as well as religious organization affiliated to the Christian religion. Also the researches will be pursued in Burrell Drtl Aveviv University, and in Rishon Le Zyvn Bible Institute. From the Bible of Israel institution in all parts of the country religious educational conferences, lectures and seminars will be held. Whether in the country level or in the international level matches of the Bible are followed with particular interest.
In the military parade (as a sign of liberation from slavery and the movement of Jewish people from Egypt to Jerusalem) roll of Torah (paper and rolled up scroll of the Torah) clad in silk robes is located inside a float and is passed by protection of the soldiers. Carrying Torah on the shoulder or embracing it has a great reward.
In Israel work starts on Sunday morning, with starting of the week. Schools begin training with prayer. Saturday is Easter and is officially a holiday everywhere. Any work even public transport is closed. How to say hello or Shebat on Saturday is different than other days, and is called Shbat Shalom or Salam of Saturday. Israelis show a great dependence on Jews' customs, traditions and in Saturday's honor occasion which has a high place in the Jewish religion, with all of their heart, they show interest. Across Israel Saturdays begin from sunset of Friday and continues till Saturday night. Ceremonies and rituals of Saturday by raising their economic, commercial, political, cultural, scientific, technical, literary and philosophical condition, consider leadership of all the nations of the world and to achieve sovereignty work hardly night and day, and they do any kind of efforts to fulfill the goal of "all things for Jews". The Israeli government has been placed in the realm of democracy under the direct control of religious and military figures, and at the head of them the Jewish Leadership Committee and the World Zionist Organization with organized economic and disciplined order. In average, four percent of upstart weekly programs of Israeli radio is dedicated to religious music, in addition to it, daily at lectures Torah is read for ten or fifteen minutes in Radio Israel. Nine percent of time of weekly lectures is religious and moral ads, that number of them is increasing every day. However, the smallest and least scientific and religious criticism cannot be imagined in these programs. Religious debate is unthinkable all over the Israel.
Priests have privileged position and are venerated at the ceremony, rituals, politic issues, and in society. Torah and Talmud are taught in every stage of education, at home, at school and outside. Joy fills the streets in the days of Purim, Shadud, and Simha.
The largest religious authority is Sarkhakham or the Chief Rabbi who has been elected by the great community of rabbis. Interpretation of Jewish law is his responsibility. He also is responsible for supervising the rabbinical courts.
All religions in worship and management of religious and charitable institutions are free. Meanwhile, as the former, religious temples and holy places under strict supervision were protected from robbery and rape and harm. Today also by legislation of necessary laws cares have been intensified and the premises are under state protection. Any religious community has the right to hold its own religious festivals and weekend ceremonies, but only Saturdays and Jewish holidays are called as official holidays.
Ministry of Religious Affairs in cooperation with religious leaders will assist them in each case to help the departments of antiquities and museums and preserve and rebuilt and restore the holy places and temples and protect such places from robbery and intervention of others.
Religious laws and orders in all national, civil, and military institutions are carefully implemented, such as not eating pork, eating trivial bread, not drinking milk with meals and ...
Israel is built on the basis of Judaism. In any new level at every stage, in every hospital, in every corner, a temple or a small Knesset is built.
Religious leaders at the opening of parliament, the Knesset, national ceremonies, inauguration, Congress and the military sit at the head of Congress with formal dress. Each institution, university, and school has a religious temple (Knesset, Yahavra, or Synagug), and religious officials in the Israeli army also have religious temples.
Jews use a special history and religious calendar. Using the Gregorian date is not common. According to their opinion, 5747 is the date of today. The date is the day in which creation of man and the world, according to Jewish religious beliefs, happened.
