To visit the palace of CHEHELSOTUN, you must go to the west of the NAQSHE JAHAN Square. Somewhere on the east of CHAHARBAGH Street and south of SEPAH Street, one of the most magnificent historical attractions in Iran is waiting for you to take you on a historic journey, several hundred years ago. It is easy to walk to the palace in a few steps from the NAQSHE JAHAN Square, and this convenient access is one of the reasons for its many tourists. Usually people who go to watch the historic NAQSHE JAHAN square, walk a few steps to get themselves to one of the famous palaces of this city, the palace, that you can enter its garden, you will see first of all, a large rectangular pond and you see that the reflection of the palace on the surface of the water which gave a spectacular look to the garden. On both sides of the pool, you see old and tall trees that have been refreshing the gardens. The magnificent mansion of the garden, which is like the other Persian gardens are in the direction of the pond, is 2120 square meters, and to reach to its main gate, you have to go through some steps. With inscriptions found from the corners of the palace, the building of the CHEHELSOTUN Hall was built during the reign of Shah Abbas II SAFAVID.

The CHEHELSOTUN Palace has an area of 67,000 square meters

The original design of this garden and its magnificent mansion dates back when Shah Abbas I selected Isfahan as the SAFAVID capital. He decided to build a long street called the Four Gardens and create beautiful gardens around it. Of course, today, out of those gardens, only two garden by names eight heavens and CHEHELSOTUN remained. At that time, when the ceremony was held, the guests were invited to the CHEHELSOTUN Palace and received them in the garden. . After Shah Abbas I, Shah Abbas II added other sections to the palace and increased the glory with the porches and halls. This building was made by Chinese, Iranian and other foreign styles. before arriving, you can see a porch with columns of pine wood and planks, and its four central columns are made on 4 lion stones. The porch has 20 columns in total, and their reflection in the water of the garden has caused the palace to be called the 40th column.
If you could leave the beauties of the palace and the airy garden and go inside, the attractive drawings and magnificent interior architecture are waiting for you. The halls and porches you see in the palace, along with all the paintings, tiles and mirrors, were all created during the reign of King Abbas II. In the mirror hall, you will find lot of mirror works, small mirrors that have shaped the appealing roles. Perhaps the most beautiful part of the palace is its central hall, where you can see many tourists who watch for historical paintings for hours, drawings that are so detailed and skillful that require hours of watch. By watching the paintings, you go to the living style of the SAFAVID period, and perhaps during the whole time you are watching them, you are admiring their painters and the glorious past of Iran.

Here you see crystal and golden designs that your eyes will not forget them. Some of these paintings are drawn in the QAJAR period and depict the historical events of their time. . This palace is so magnificent and memorable that perhaps it is impossible to imagine Isfahan without it, a palace that is surely the place that tourists are sure to visit. For this reason, there is an inscription which says this palace is the most sacred building in the world.
