Ingredients:
1 kg ground turkey
2 cups lentil
1 tbsp. olive oil
3 garlic cloves
1 large onion
6 cups chopped tomatoes
1 canned black, or kidney beans
1 canned cranberry beans
40 g chili powder
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika

Chili Turkey and Lentil
Hot Turkey and Lentil is a new recipe made out of turkey. The yummy, nutritious dish is simply made. The best thing about it is that you can cook lentil in advance and keep in the freezer before use. Therefore, it takes almost no time to get it ready. The amount of ingredients serves 8. But you can multiple or halve it depending on the guests.
Now onto the directions:
Put lentil in a pot of water and cook well. To make it fast you can apply a slow cooker. As lentil is getting ready, pour olive oil in a large pot and let it heat over the flame.
Chop up the onion and sauté in the oil 5 to 7 minutes till soft and colorless. Add in garlic as well and continue 2 more minutes. Place the ground turkey into the pot and sauté 10 to 15 minutes equally. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Then put in finely cubed tomatoes, garlic powder, chili and paprika. Allow over the heat another 10 minutes.
Take out some of the canned cranberry beans stock and crush all the grains with a masher. Drain the cooked lentils as well. Add them all into the pot and allow on the heat for 15 minutes. If you feel the mixture is very strong and thick, add some of the remaining stock. If not satisfied yet, you can pour half of a glass of water.
Test and adjust to the taste. To garnish you can apply yogurt and sliced scallions. Bon appetite!
