The analysis of personality and movement of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)
Let’s go back to the main discussion that whether Imam had rational or divine personality? Whether his performance in Karbala was logically or passionately? The answer is that his movement was passionately and his personality was a divine personality however, a passionate movement is not mean that his job have been against logic. So, by a look at the above discussions and bringing some documents about Imam Hussein movement, we determine this claim.
1- Loving to God in the personality of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)
Loving to worship, devoting all your properties in the way of reviving Islamic values and also signing the letter of God’s affection with your blood and calling that prophet as masters of all martyrs can be of those documents which confirms his divine personality in fact, through logic by having a look at recommendations and treatments efforts are made so that a part of his divine personality and his pure friend are being introduced.
A: enthusiasm to worship:
As said, worship is in fact talking to God and man can by worshiping achieve the position of devotion to the way of God and loving to worship is loving to means by which the lover achieve his beloved. In personality movement of Ashura, we can offer many evidences from this love so, Ibn Asir says in the book of Asad Al Gaba “ Imam Hussein was scholar, and he was fast all the time , said the pray , did Haj , paid charity and did all sort of the good. Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the evening of Ashura pleaded an opportunity so that they can pray and said: God knows that I love to say the pray, read Quran and all the time I pray and beg repentance. So a man who names Abu Saedi comes to Imam and tells him: Ya the son of the Prophet! It is the time of pray and we wish to say our last pray collaboratively with you; look! What sort of pray it was that the shots came as rain drops but, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his companions were immerse in their own moods. A European says what kind of pray the son of Imam Ali said, a pray that is unique throughout history. The man who, to get the reward of pray together, is presented in the pray , no doubt he is wise but, a man who is ready to say the pray on the way together , surely he has loving treatment and it is not merely for reward who exposes his life to danger but, it is for love and enthusiasm.
B: Devotion in the way of the beloved:
That person by his movement devoted the intense human emotions in loving of God; he is a perfect man and it is evident that there are the most intense and deepest emotions in him. Some interests like in tersest to sister, brother, children that each of them are regarded as samples of earthy life and accidentally they were also in Karbala, too but, Imam Hussein by his movement and revolution devoted all of these emotions in divine knowledge and affection to God and it is due to this reason that celestial dimension of revolution is so high. Each devotee as usual is possible to ruin one of these emotions but, Imam Hussein in Ashura movement and in a middle of the say gave all these emotions, affections and earthy loves to the way of God. Abi Abdullah put Ali Akbar on the horse and sent him to the war so, you‘d better compare this performance of Imam with the job Hazrat Ibrahim had done.
“if Hazrat Ibrahim had put the head of Ismael down to the soil and so on but, he has not been faced like Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) with blooded piece of the body of his son.
We read in comprehensive pilgrimage pray that..
Best regard is to you, Imams, who you are the best in loving God however, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) call some one who is deprived from god’s affection as one who is on loss. Shahid Mottahari says in this regard that to show the aspect of theism and mysticism , the aspect of pure dedication to God , perhaps that two sentences of Aba Abdullah is being enough who says in a presentation in Mecca “ we , the prophet’s family , do not choose by our own so, what do we choose that God has chosen us on the other hand, we pass the way that God has paved for us and this is his last pray of his murmur : I am tolerant to your fate hey! God which there is no God other than you hey?! Helper of the poor I am tolerant to your decree and hey helper of those who don’t have any supporter and then he knelt down on the hot soils of Karbala and put his face down on it and murmured these sentences and by God’ name and sliced body went visiting God. it is because recognition and is the product of rationalism and love is also created by them and Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was in the highest degree of recognition and love so, based on this, he easily dedicated his son, his assets , his family in the way of God so that he can get God’s favor. His friends were in a way that was so enthusiast to God and full of love to him so, as a sample we give some historical accounts.
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) stayed in “zi Hasam “ and praised God and then said : the works are as you see , the world has changed and has changed into ugliness , the good has gone and continuously is getting worse and only as much as a bottom of container has remained as well as a minor life like a poor grassland ; don’t you see that they do not follow God and they are joined to the vain ? However, truly! a believer must be enthusiast to the way of God that according to me death is martyrdom and living with the oppressors are an agent for misery after that, Zahir Ibn Gain got up and after praising God said: “Hey the son of the prophet! , swear to God , if word was eternal for us and we were living in it forever and following and supporting you made us separate , surely we preferred revolution with you to staying in that word. On the night of Ashura, Imam said to his friends to use the darkness of the night and save them so, each of his companions said something which was indicative of their honest love to Aba Abdullah. Sa’d Ibn Abdullah Hanafi said “ I take oath that I never leave you .. I swear to God that If I know that I am being killed and then I become alive and then I am being lively burned and my ashes go by the wind and they repeat it for seventy time , I will never leave you so that I die in front of you nevertheless, why I shouldn’t do that once I am being killed and then there is a eternal dignity and salvation “ Zahir Ibn Gei said” swear to God I love to be killed then revived and then being killed and it happens for thousand time and by my killing the God sent away the miseries from your life , these youths and your family
C: Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as master (Saied) of all the martyrs:
In respect to whatever told, It is clarified why that Hazrat in narrations was called under the nickname of Saied Al Shohada. Someone who has given his life in the way of God is called martyr but, why this word is accounted to such person? Is this word carrying a specific meaning in religious culture? By referring to dictionaries and references, we can obtain variety of concepts but, among them two expression is much important; firstly “martyrdom “is presence, observation and seeing and martyr because he has easily given up his life, property and bestowed them to his friend is entitled t other name of Shahid however, he is the one who has witnessed God and just see him. He is not only enjoying rational personality, but because looks at way of God, has divine personality. Martyr is lover and his job is burning and lighting. Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), because he is the head of lovers, he is titled as Saied Al Shohada. That Hazrat burnt like a candle so that the human being get free from darkness and true seekers find their ways for getting their targeted home. So, from whatever it is told, the secret of these points are clarified that why there is no goodness higher than martyrdom and why despite the fact that each infallible Imam after his death needs washing and shroud but, martyr doesn’t need washing and shroud and why martyr in the doomsday enjoys God’s forgiveness and why do we beg God in our pray to guide us to the way of martyrs. Can we find a philosophe and advantage for all of these values except value of love and dedicating all existence based on awareness and authority in the way of the beloved? The second is that martyrdom has also been used as witnessing and it is interesting that we know in religion of Jesus Christ also the word of blood is used instead of using pen and ink and when someone witness to something wants to make sure the audience about the reality of that object so, based on this, we can say that Imam Hussein signed the letter of God’s affection and has made all conscious about Islam. The result is that affection to God and the love which Imam Hussein (peace to him) had toward God made that Hazrat either to love worshiping or to revive Islamic values dedicates all his properties and, signs the roll of loving God with his blood and achieves the title of.” Saied Al Shohada” .
The symbol of triple love in the movement of Imam Hussein (peace to him) :
The movement of Ashuora in terms of worldly presuppositions with patterns of earthy satisfactions of desires and also common wisdom was something irrational on the other hand, based on accounting logic and common logic this event must be managed in another way. Therefore, it seems that for explanation of this issue, discussing two coinciding flows which by two types of logic was being managed is necessary here to be discussed.
A: the issue of Zobeiri plot or accounting logic;
We know that after the death of Moavia two important occurred against Yazid which one was movement of Imam Hussein and the other is the movement of Abdullah Ibn Zobeir however , both of them did not overcame by Yazid ruling and started a movement but, between these two movement , there was fundamental differences in the means , criterions, goals and results . The goal of Ibn Zobeir of his movement was that he himself get the power and rule over so, by this goal it is evident that rationalism is controlled by desire and lust and like Yazid play trick to get his earthy goal . But, it is worth mentioning that he, by using wisdom could succeed apparently and becomes dominant on Hejaz and for 13 years ruled on Egypt, Palestine, Dameshq, and Khorasan and so on and could get the support of all areas except Jordan. But, from the viewpoints of religion and the world’s elites, Ibn Zobeir was not more than a failed man that by his passing, his name and his background also went away. Along with that, although Imam Hussein achieved martyrdom over a night but, his movement inspired all true movements that after him happened throughout the history. He who was from Mohammad Messenger of God (peace be upon him) and great Messenger, Mohammad, became his thus, the pray under his cloth was answered and his tomb turned into a cure and panacea for all and crying for him became a means of forgiveness because Imam Hussein invited people to God while Zobeir to himself so, Imam became celestial and Zobeir ruined. By this elaboration, we will have a pointing finger to the advantageous of arithmetic logic of Ibn Zobeir from opportunities which can offer clearer picture of compatibility of Imam Hussein movement with rationalism. By arrival Imam to Mecca and his staying there, people altogether ran to visit him. Ibn Zobeir who knew that by a personality like Hussein Ibn Ali (peace be upon him) in Mecca , there is no room for him in Mecca so, to gain everlasting position , he was going to the home of that Hazrat however , it was so difficult for him to tolerate Imam but, to gain political benefits , he tolerated this and each day he came to Imam nevertheless , Ibn Zobeir was counting so that he get ride of Imam in Mecca hence, when he heard that Imam will go to Coufa , he got happy and said : Hey Aba Abdullah ! You did best, feared God and because this tribe has degraded the God’s slaves, you asked for Jihad. Imam Hussein said: I am going to go to Coufa; Ibn Zobeir replied God helps you so, if I had friend like you there, I will never leave them. Because he feared that Imam suspect him and Imam considers his joy due to his living, said: if you stay in Hejaz and invite us with people of Hejaz to help you, we will run to you because you are more deserved than Yazid and his father. When Ibn Zobeir leaves Imam (peace to him) , Imam said : for IBN Zobeir there is nothing better in the world than my leaving of Hejaz and people do not regard him the same as me hence, I like to leave here and empty here for him. Others were also aware of Ibn Zobeir’s intention. Abdullah after insisting on Imam for staying in Mecca and Imam’s avoidance, says to Hazrat you by you leaving brighten the eyes of Ibn Zobeir. Imam, despite he knew that Mecca is better for revolution and there he enjoys people’s support, but was not prepared by staying in Mecca to disrespect the holiest sites of Islam. That Hazrat left shelter of Kaaba and put himself as the target of the enemies’ shots in order to maintain God’s privacy but, Zobeir stayed in Mecca to use the respect of mecca in his own favor. He was the same champion of that caused the respect of Mecca to be broken because the corps of Yazid after the killing of Madina people which is known as event of “Horre” moved toward Mecca and when got to Mecca Zobeir sheltered to Kaaba in this time, Hasin Ibn Namir who was the commander of the corps ordered to throw fire on Zobeir and when his friend tried to put up the fire so that home of Kaaba avoided damage, he ignored so that people’s feelings are being stimulated and he can have necessary benefits out of this event of course, it was not the first time that he avoided the sanctity of the shrine. Ten years later when Hojaj attacked him he resorted to Kaabe and Hojaj destroyed Kaabe with catapult and killed him. Therefore, these were samples of Ibn Zobeir’s treatments which were organized based on wisdom and treatments of Imam Hussein which was set up by celestial rationalism but, there were other groups who evaluated Imam’s treatment based on common logic.
B: the beneficial flow or common sense;
Imam Hussein knew that he did not have any chance for survival and he knows that they are going to martyr him and also he was aware of their unfaithfulness in agreement regarding his father , brother and family so, based on this ,we can not trust the promise of people of koufe and he thought as most of the people of his time. Those who were knowledgeable and believed in temperamental dignities, thought of all affairs based on advisable wisdom and they did not like death, tramping and imprisonment which was out of the outcomes of this trip and because of that prevented that prophet out of presence in the scene of Karbala or they advised him not to take his family on this war, too. Exactly, their only difference with Imam (peace be upon him) was that, Imam also saw this death, imprisonment but, he was Lover and, he did not care the temptations of excessive rationalism. The deviation in Islamic community has been increased and, on that situation in order to prevent from this deviation, no wise man could choose another way hence, Imam Hussein who was immersed in stage of real love to God, found the way of defending God and true way in death and his imprisonment and he did it, too in fact, it was the same great Jehad which was also called the war of real love and common sense. In this situation, those who were sieged by common sense and moved based on argumentation, believed that when the conditions and means of movement are not prepared and the enemy is at his heydays, we must make reservation or keep silence but, based on Imam Hussein who has broken this siege and had been reached to the stage of top wisdom. That Hazrat when got to the area of Karbala said “here is the home of warriors and the tomb of martyred lovers. Well, in movement of Imam Hussein the common sense is wonderful and orders to silence but, celestial and top rational which has got to the summit of love and intuition , by a correct calculation and perfect evaluation , distinguish true way from untrue one and are never confined by common sense which is the same power of illusion. Today, it is clear for all that if Imam Hussein had listened to the advice of those so-called intellectuals, only a name had been left out of Islam. Its reality was imprisoned in the hands of Bani Omaia and we could not get it however, Imam Hussein’s sacrifice which was synthesis of love and wisdom saved Islam out of being destroyed and fallen by Bani Omaya because, rationalism in the flow of love started calculation and planning and showed people the way and the well and it is the meaning of love and rationalism in the movement of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). The best interpretation of Ashoura event has been heard from Zeinab Kobra. Ibn Ziad related his acts as determinants and said ‘how did you see the action of God with your brother and your family? “Hazrat Zeinab said: I saw nothing but, goodness in fact, they were a group that God had destined martyrdom as their fate and went back to his eternal bed room. This speech is only made by the one who has achieved the summit of perfection so, if it is told that the movement of Imam Hussein is illogic or anti-rationalism then, it is never in this way that the performance of Imam Hussein to be illogic but, Imam’s movement is indicative of love and beyond common sense hence, if Imam (peace be upon him) is questioned as a philosopher, he can provide a logical defense of his own operation. The last talk is that, in Karbala, the owners of minor rational and sublime one are put at the same position that’s why, a group that lower than common sense and higher than that are put facing each other and on the other side, the group who were the owner of common sense , because were not lover, failed to follow Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)
