Many contemporary international issues are related to the strange relationship between America and Israel. The two countries, especially since the 1960s have been each other's foreign policy complement so that distinguishing them from each other is really difficult.
Interestingly, unlike the initial impression of some commentators, we can say the Arab defeat by Israel in fact does not have a role in spreading and deepening its relationship with America, but what has expanded relationship in particular is merely shaped by comply with perspective of the fathers of Zionism based on supporting, and it has been deepened like a conscious project in many aspects, especially in the cultural, political and military, economic dimensions so that over a ten-year period, mainly in grant aids of America to Israel has reached from millions to billions; now it can firmly be stated that America has now been clearly and completely Israeli and even its most domestic issues should not have conflict with the interests of Israel. From a time when America's support for Israel based on preventing the spread of communism and Arabic nationalism was justified to today that Zionist regime introduces him as a strong barrier against fundamentalism and evil in the region, more than half a century passes, but it seems like all the time a uniform way for the same destination has been traveled:
making the United States of America Israeli
America's military fleet which split the deserts of Iraq, bombed military and civilian targets, besieged in the Iraqi cities, targeted the Iraqi leaders and shoot the citizens, faced with a sandstorm and resistance of the Iraqi people shocked it and now it is faced with suicide attacks. This leads us to an inevitable comparison: Is this the West Bank of America? Is this making the United States of America Israeli that goes towards its logical conclusion?
Most Americans, affected by the press, interpret what is happening in the Middle East today with a limited vision solely based on events which are very close to us. In perspective of Americans, the history of the Middle East starts with recent Palestinians suicide attacks against "peace" and "sacred" Israeli "citizens", while in a deep look at the issue of Iraq, they can realize the fact that the invasion of Iraq is in fact the result of process of making America Israeli.
Zionist ancestors clearly knew that their colonial project, the creation of the state of Israel, will have no chance of success without the support of the major powers. Zionists tried to convince the Ottoman Caliph to open Palestine to Jewish settlements, but Khalifa rejected their request.
Then Great Britain used Jews to stimulate America to enter the First World War in the throes of World War I when he saw him in a critical situation. Instead of the service, Great Britain government promised the Jews in not-so-famous Balfour Declaration of (1917) to make every effort to establish a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.
Great Britain seized Palestine in December 1917 and immediately opened it to the Jews. At the end of the First World War, according to a series of contracts, Great Britain and France divided Arab areas of the Ottoman Empire among themselves in order to destroy Arab unity, and Syrian was divided into four sections. A Maroni government was formed in Lebanon, Jordan was entrusted to one of the sons of "Sharif Hussein", France also dominated over Syria and Great Britain also dominated over Palestine. Soon the Jews of Europe went to occupied Palestine by the army of Great Britain and established a rival government in that country utilizing its military forces. Death of Palestinians was certain. On the one hand, they had no power to deal with the Zionist and British forces, and on the other hand, the weak Arab governments which were dominated and despicable by imperialist system were not able to help the Palestinians. However, they still fought to save their home. As soon as Great Britain stopped Jewish immigration to Palestine, the Zionists intensified their terrorist attacks in Palestine. Great Britain who had lost control of the situation after a while, emptied the position for the United Nations especially the United States of America, which has now conquered the region relatively. United States of America presented "Partition Plan" of Palestine with strong advocate of Jewish interests. Palestinians rejected the partition plan. Their poor resistance and Other Arabs resistant were shattered by the Zionists. Consequently, millions of Palestinians were driven out from their homes, and they were never allowed to return to Palestine.
The creation of the Zionist regime at least in its early stages did not attract America's interest strategically. At that time, the United States and Great Britain had focused their best to dominate the oil resources of the Persian Gulf countries through weak Kingdoms. The rise of radical regimes in Egypt (in 1952) and then in Syria just result in more dependence of Arab sultans of oil-rich countries on Western powers. When Iranian nationalists sought to nationalize oil industry in 1952, America and Great Britain returned the dependent king to power again by organizing a coup. America and Great Britain at this time were strongly entertained by control of the area and did not use Israel in this field at all. In fact, having a "special relationship" with Israel could undermine their control over the region provoking nationalist emotions of Arabs.
According to the history of America's aids to Israel, "special relationship" between the two governments had not yet been created after 1960s. America's aid to Israel was lower than hundred million dollars in a year before 1965, and even more importantly, only a limited part of the aid was in the form of military assistance. But this assistance which was doubled in 1966 was increased in 1971 to six times, and in 1974, once again it became five times more, as far as it got to 2/6 billion dollars respectively. In the next year, the amount of aid was increased to five billion dollars, while most of these aids were grants, and almost all of them were used in military issues. These figures show that there has been a "special relationship" between America and Israel that no other country except Israel has it.
Most commentators, especially left-wing commentators, claim that the special relationship between Israel and America became more necessary with the victory of Israel over Egypt, Syria and Jordan in 1967. According to these commentators, the victory of the government convinced America that Israel can be helpful in the region as a vital ally and also as a balancing power against Arab nationalism and Soviet ambitions. But this explanation is too simplistic and dispositional because if America had started thinking of creation of a special relationship with Israel because of the victory of Israel over the Arab armies in 1948 or later after 1956 that occupying regime seized the Sinai Peninsula the "special relationship" would have been necessary. After the Tel Aviv regime suppressed Arab nationalist leaders and Soviet allies in the region, America no longer needed to wait until 1967. In fact, Arabs' defeat should reduce the importance of this regime for America; in addition to this, doubling America's aid sent to Israel in 1966 and also hiding the regime's attack in 1967 to Ship (Yusa Liberty) on the Sinai coast by the government of America suggest that America's relationship with Israel was well developed even before the 1967 war.
If America's special relationship development with Israel was slow, it had other reasons. Much of it was for this reason that Israel at least before the 1950s alone and without the help of America could operate in the region well, while the government of Great Britain was still considered as the dominant power in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, and as a result, receiving the position for America was not possible but slowly and with time. Aside from that, Israel began a fruitful relationship with France that not only was supported by France by receiving aircrafts but also through cooperation on nuclear programs, the regime even in the early years of his rise, militarily was quite superior to the Arab opposition.
Great Britain and France were clearly aware of this problem, too. They suggested Israel in 1956 to set occupying the Sinai area as his as a part of their campaign objectives to control the Suez Canal area, and this proposal was well justified, as the occupying regime in a few days freed Sinai area of the Egyptian people.
