If you ever travel to the land of Khorasan, consider these suggestions:
Make your trip a little longer and visit a beautiful village around Bojnoord. You will certainly be so swept away that you might even stay longer.
If you go from Mashhad to Chenaran and Ghoochan, you will access a beautiful village called Esfidan, 45 km from southeast of Bojnoord. With the first sight it reminds you of Masooleh in Mazandaran.
It stands within a beautiful village surrounded by high mountains and is among Khorasan’s top tourist attractions thanks to its striking waterfalls, roaring springs, caverns, wonderful towers, shrine, fruit trees, high-water rivers, forest, and vegetation.
On its northwest there is a long, deep valley known as Hinvard or Hin Nabard. Walk about half an hour from the village to reach it. There is a clear and abundant spring in the valley which provides water for the gardens nearby.
On its southwest, there is another valley known as Bahargah with numerous springs and a beautiful waterfall.
Sandal trees are the symbol of the village but currently there are only two of them remaining; their trunks are over 2.60 meters in diameter.
On the northwest side over a rock near Hinvard spring there is mountain called Khazaneh, on top of which is a cavern known as Khazane Raheh. According to the villagers it’s a man-made cave at the bottom of which is a well which was used as a haven in the old days.
There is another cave called Yijet or Maesoom with beautiful limestone. At the beginning of the path there is a strange rock resembling a human head.

The shrine of Imamzadeh Mohammad Bagher (PBUH) is an old building with a short dome. According to the inhabitants, he was buried over a thousand years ago. There is an old cemetery nearby where the graves face east, and it’s said that some dead were buried vertically.
On its west, there is a rocky wall which is known as Tash Ghale. There are stone walls on top of the castle with simple buff and red pottery pieces in the middle. Furthermore, there are remains of ancient stone towers built with mortar over some of the nearby mountains, the most famous of which are Ghari Malagh and Ghargh(or crow) towers on the northwest of the village. There are still pillars remaining.
Around the steep village there are gardens and pastures which cultivate walnuts, a product which is famous across the province. If you ever travel to Esfidan you’ll see it’s worth extending the trip.
