If you live in Tehran and decide to have a one or two -day trip to a place nearby with a pleasant climate, our suggestion is Ab Nik in Fasham. If you ever visit the place, you’ll view a wonderful and charming nature which looks like a canvas painted in beautiful autumn colors.
To reach the village of Ab Nik, a district in Rudbar Gahsran-e Shemiranat, you should move 22 km towards Lavasan . After Fasaham, Zayegan and the three-way road of Lalan, you’ll get there. It lies within a valley which extends northeast to Frasham and ends up in the fields of Lar and Khatun Bargah.
It is located on the east side of the main road , on two sides of the river of Kalarud ( called Ab Nik by locals). Since it lies on the slopes of Alborz mountains it is considered as one of the major mount climbing trails. So if you are a mountain climbing buff, plan to do so once in the village. The heights of Kharsang, north Kharsang and Varzab are nice options for having a spring or autumn mountain climbing.
You’ll come across some fields, hand-made caves and the river of Hamsafaran on the way from the village to the encircling mountains. There are mineral rivers flowing through and that’s why the residents are well-built and sturdy.
Like Lavasan, Oshan and Fasham , the summer village is a draw; families have bought small villas to shelter in during hot summers. Over 100 households live there in summer. But in contrast, in freezing and snowy winter only 30 households stay in the village.
To go there, you can take a bus or taxi to Tajrish square , if you don’t have a car. From there, you can take a minibus or taxi whose destination is Fasham and ask the driver to drop you in Ab Nik. Remember it’s fairly cold these days, so make sure to take all the necessary equipment.
